RINOs Not Wanted: U.S. Senate Races Send A Warning to the GOP Establishment

The Republican Party of West Virginia needs to take note of this race next door.  Republican candidate for U.S. Senate Rand Paul (son of Presidential candidate and Congressman Ron Paul of Texas) is poised to win next door in Kentucky, with a 15-point lead on his republican opponent.  There is a warning to the GOP establishment and Republican Party in this:  return to Constitutional conservatism or perish!  

Republicans that support Big Government (including a Security State or militant wars for Democracy) are not in touch with "grass roots" conservative Americans, and are no longer wanted.  Note also that he does not come from one of the lead political families that so dominate state politics, as they they tend to in West Virginia as well.  (Note Sarah Palin is endorsing him, having a keen eye for personal political opportunity, even though she does not share his constitutional principles whatsoever).  The era of embedded incumbency or for the ruling elite establishment of the GOP, within states, is over.

The same is true with Republican Senate candidate J.D. Hayworth (a current Congressman) of Arizona who is also taking it to Senator and Presidential candidate John McCain.  Same story.  Note that Presidential candidate Mitt Romney and Sarah Palin are both endorsing McCain over a real conservative!  This reveals their true colors, and that of the GOP establishment, who circle the wagons to protect each other instead of endorsing true conservative principles.  Listen to what Hayworth says about that here:

NEO-conservative and former Vice President Dick Cheney, who is a member of the globalist and very unconservative Council of Foreign Relations (CFR, who also closely advised the Clinton and now Obama administration), has entered the fray in Kentucky to paint Rand Paul's opponent, Grayson, as "the real conservative".

Former Vice President Dick Cheney has injected himself into Kentucky’s Senate contest, endorsing Republican hopeful Trey Grayson as “the real conservative in this race.”

Cheney, of course, has a provable record of lying publicly, although with great persuasive ability.  Just another example of how RINOs control the GOP establishment.  (See previous post on the Bush/Cheney fiscal record to see how the proverbial "pot calls the kettle black" on this issue).

The FBI Obstructs Justice: Uncovering the Anthrax Cover-Up

By design, those attacks put the American population into a state of intense fear of Islamic terrorism, far more than the 9/11 attacks alone could have accomplished. Much more important than the general attempt to link the anthrax to Islamic terrorists, there was a specific intent -- indispensably aided by ABC News -- to link the anthrax attacks to Iraq and Saddam Hussein.

By laying all blame for the anthrax letters on the award-winning Ft. Detrick scientist Bruce Ivins it can only be said that the FBI is obstructing justice. In fact, they were pressured to do just that from the very start, from very high up in the chain of command. The FBI official story now, after seven years, is highly incredulous. For whoever was behind the anthrax letters, and its several very specific targets, did more to further the neoconservative propaganda for a "war on terrorism" against radical Islam, to justify war in Iraq and regime change in the middle east, and to coerce Congress into draconian anti-constitutional legislation than any other action, other than 9/11 itself. To suggest that Ivins did all this for monetary gain is contrary to Criminology 101 which seeks solid evidence for "motive, means, and opportunity".

First, lost in the haze is that the Bush administration (per this Daily News article below) pressured the FBI from the very start to pin the anthrax letters on militant Islamics, especially overseas--without any such evidence:

In the immediate aftermath of the 2001 anthrax attacks, White House officials repeatedly pressed FBI Director Robert Mueller to prove it was a second-wave assault by Al Qaeda, but investigators ruled that out, the Daily News has learned.

After the Oct. 5, 2001, death from anthrax exposure of Sun photo editor Robert Stevens, Mueller was "beaten up" during President Bush's morning intelligence briefings for not producing proof the killer spores were the handiwork of terrorist mastermind Osama Bin Laden, according to a former aide.

"They really wanted to blame somebody in the Middle East," the retired senior FBI official told The News.

On October 15, 2001, President Bush said, "There may be some possible link" to Bin Laden, adding, "I wouldn't put it past him." Vice President Cheney also said Bin Laden's henchmen were trained "how to deploy and use these kinds of substances, so you start to piece it all together."

Vital unresolved anthrax questions and ABC News

...If the now-deceased Ivins really was the culprit behind the attacks, then that means that the anthrax came from a U.S. Government lab, sent by a top U.S. Army scientist at Ft. Detrick. Without resort to any speculation or inferences at all, it is hard to overstate the significance of that fact. From the beginning, there was a clear intent on the part of the anthrax attacker to create a link between the anthrax attacks and both Islamic radicals and the 9/11 attacks. This was the letter sent to Brokaw:

The letter sent to Leahy contained this message:

We have anthrax.

You die now.

Are you afraid?

Death to America.

Death to Israel.

Allah is great.

By design, those attacks put the American population into a state of intense fear of Islamic terrorism, far more than the 9/11 attacks alone could have accomplished.

Much more important than the general attempt to link the anthrax to Islamic terrorists, there was a specific intent -- indispensably aided by ABC News -- to link the anthrax attacks to Iraq and Saddam Hussein. In my view, and I've written about this several times and in great detail to no avail, the role played by ABC News in this episode is the single greatest, unresolved media scandal of this decade. News of Ivins' suicide, which means (presumably) that the anthrax attacks originated from Ft. Detrick, adds critical new facts and heightens how scandalous ABC News' conduct continues to be in this matter.

During the last week of October, 2001, ABC News, led by Brian Ross, continuously trumpeted the claim as their top news story that government tests conducted on the anthrax -- tests conducted at Ft. Detrick -- revealed that the anthrax sent to Daschele contained the chemical additive known as bentonite. ABC News, including Peter Jennings, repeatedly claimed that the presence of bentonite in the anthrax was compelling evidence that Iraq was responsible for the attacks, since -- as ABC variously claimed -- bentonite "is a trademark of Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein's biological weapons program" and "only one country, Iraq, has used bentonite to produce biological weapons."

Third, there is the Democracy Now podcast on anthrax, which includes an interview with Greenwald, and an anthrax researcher who personally new Ivins. These interviews also include sound bites of McCain linking the Anthrax letters to Iraq on the David Letterman Show in 2001, as well as Bush, both knowing full well (per FBI) that there in fact was no link to Iraq, or even "Islamic militants" inside or outside the US!

Finally, here is a dated article (when the FBI zeroed and harassed Hatfill with the same zeal as they did Ivins later) about another Ft. Detrick former scientist, who did have access, even motive (to blame Arabs), and an interesting profile. Dr. Zack for some reason is not a suspect while he fits the profile of the crime closer than Ivins. He is Jewish and a dual Israeli citizen, it happens, with a demonstrated hatred for Arabs (see how he persecuted his Egyptian co-worker and was fired for it), much like many of the neoconservatives behind the war on terrorism agenda that they wrote well before 9/11. There is sufficient prima facia evidence here to consider him a suspect whose behavior was both malicious and suspicious. Yet the FBI says now that Ivins is the ONLY suspect and they are convinced he would have been found guilty, contrary to a larger body of evidence and lack of witnesses.

Before the investigation of Dr. Hatfill captured national headlines, another insider scientist had come under FBI scrutiny without much media fanfare. It was easy to miss the few stories published in January 2002 about Lt. Col. Philip Zack, who, like Hatfill, also had access to a well-equipped laboratory with lax security. Zack, moreover, actually worked with military-grade anthrax at Fort Detrick.

Documents from the inquiry show that one unauthorized person who was observed entering the lab building at night was Langford's predecessor, Lt. Col. Philip Zack, who at the time no longer worked at Fort Detrick. A surveillance camera recorded Zack

Zack left Fort Detrick in December 1991, after a controversy over allegations of unprofessional behavior by Zack, Rippy, Brown and others who worked in the pathology division. They had formed a clique that was accused of harassing the Egyptian-born Assaad,who later sued the Army, claiming discrimination.

Assaad said he had believed the harassment was behind him until last October, until after the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.

He said that is when the FBI contacted him, saying someone had mailed an anonymous letter - a few days before the existence of anthrax-laced mail became known - naming Assaad as a potential bioterrorist. FBI agents decided the note was a hoax after interviewing Assaad.

British Set to Leave Iraq, "Coalition of the Willing" Ends

First the Aussies, now the Brits. Suddenly the US has no major "international forces" but its own to occupy Iraq. This is a rebuke to the Blair-Bush alliance, and the liberal (neo-conned) Labor Party in the UK has suffered for the Iraq scheme (note this you cowardly Democrats, increasing the conservative Tories' power) which the people know was built on lies and 9/11 propaganda for a "war on terrorism".

This puts all eyes and pressure on the US whose "international coalition of the willing" has fallen apart, and will not be revived again (i.e. for engaging Iran, Syria, etc.) too easily.

It is not the "anti-war" movement that has done this, but the growing "anti-unjust war" movement, made up of people from any and all parties in a "coalition of the unwilling" which have hounded UK and US governments to cease this insane and anti-Christian "preventive war" policy contrary to the principles of anti-aggression and the "humble foreign policy" Bush campaigned on in 2000, in these words:

Plans for a phased withdrawal are back on track after a reduction in violence in Basra over recent months. Whitehall officials are now working on a new timetable for the move. The pull-out of the remaining 4,000 troops serving in Iraq is sure to be seized on by Labour Ministers as proof that a line has finally been drawn under Tony Blair's biggest foreign policy disaster. Iraq Might Force US to Leave; US Imperial Plans Revealed

It is about sovereignty vs. imperialism. And this article reveals the neoconservative administration's real designs for Iraq--a forward base in the Middle East for regime change according to their blueprint for "global hegemony" :

American negotiators presented a draft that would have given the U.S. access to 58 military bases, control of Iraqi airspace and immunity from prosecution for both U.S. soldiers and private contractors.

In other words, a free military hand, both inside and outside Iraq, and making use of their bases. So Reconstruction is really about making Iraq like the Philippines with a permanent military presence for global strategic interests for spreading democracy through military coercion against "rogue states" (i.e. states that defend their sovereignty against US and UN interventionism) toward a global PAX AMERICANA.

One more observation is worth noting in the article (linked), namely that the US is willing to make concessions and permit the prosecuting of "private contractors" (note this Blackwater and Halliburton) for any crimes in Iraq tells how much the use of the 58 bases and control of Iraq air space is desired above all other considerations:

Must-hear interview. The Bush administration cannot deny the claims from this insider. It is also interesting to hear the questions put to him by some good reporters, replayed during the interview, in the run up to Iraq that the MSM decided not to let us hear! (E.g. "Saddam was not a threat to the U.S.").

Hard evidence in his report for wrong doing in the administration and he is about to testify before the Judiciary committee on the CIA leak of Plame, done by Rove and Libby, and likely orchestrated by Cheney. Also how the White House Iraq Group used the NY Times as their primary propaganda conduit, including Judith Miller.

Senate Panel and Rockefeller: The Bush Administration Lied to Start War

This is how the Senate panel and Sen. Rockefeller's report reads to many of us. (How did the LA Times scoop the Charleston Gazette or Daily Mail on this, from our own Senator?) Now it's official, the truth has emerged.

Sen. Jay Rockefeller of the Intelligence Committee made it clear it was not "faulty intelligence" that led to the war (as is the excuse on talk radio), but laid fault and an accusing finger forthrightly with little uncertainty. While he did not use the words in our headline the bolder paraphrase is justified by his own words.

...the administration repeatedly presented intelligence as fact when in reality it was unsubstantiated, contradicted, or even nonexistent

Not much ambiguity in that. Then there is this one too:

There is a fundamental difference between relying on incorrect intelligence and deliberately painting a picture to the American people that you know is not fully accurate.

And especially this one:

...the Bush administration led the nation into war under false pretenses.

But note this:

The report amounts to the most direct rebuke to date of the Bush administration s use of intelligence to build support for the Iraq war. But the DOCUMENT, which catalogs hundreds of statements by administration officials, stops short of calling for any further inquiry or punishment.

Is not this grounds for impeachment--misleading a nation, and Congress, to go to war? What! All this misleading and lying, but no accountability? This is solid grounds for action, albeit late.

Sen. Robert C. Byrd was right, and much earlier than Rockefeller, and stood alone in his famous speech "The Truth Will Emerge". It has now officially emerged indeed, just as the elder Senator foretold:

And mark my words, the calculated intimidation which we see so often of late by the "powers that be" will only keep the loyal opposition quiet for just so long. Because eventually, like it always does, the truth will emerge. And when it does, this house of cards, built of deceit, will fall.

Pat Buchanan: Bush is "Woodrow Wilson on Steroids", Unnecessary Wars for Democracy

About McClellan's book that blows the whistle on the Bush administration's propaganda to start war, conservative republican, and former Nixon press secretary, Pat Buchanan says "everything we (who were in opposition) thought about the war was true". He contends that McClellan's testimony in book form proves that the Iraq war was a "war for democracy" in the middle east and that Bush was like "Woodrow Wilson on steroids" (the democrat who threw the U.S. into the European theater of World War I claiming to "make the world safe for democracy). This is of course is the neoconservative agenda that we blog about so much here to call to the public attention and is an indictment of their dangerous war-mongering ideology.

This is powerful analysis, and rebuttal to Bush loyalists and sycophants, largely defending McClellan (and his motivation to clear himself, who had been used as a pawn) from a conservative republican viewpoint. Buchanan also alludes to all this in introducing his new book about World War II, The Unnecessary War, which is sure to stir up some much needed controversy and public re-evaluation.

Former Press Secretary Blows Whistle on Bush Administration--"Secretive" and "Compartmentalized" White House

Former White House Press Secretary Scott McClellan's new book is the ultimate in a trend of whistle-blowing that dares to show the American public and inside view of "What Happened" and how decisions were and are made within the Bush administration. As per our previous article on Bugliosi's new book on how to prosecute George W. Bush it is apparent that McClellan would make a credible witness on the stand.

But now the White House and other Bush loyalists are rushing to form a lynch mob (not to defend the Constitution, but a man) as if to criticize and expose what really happened in the secretive administration is some form of treason. On the contrary, how could shedding light, from a former close friend of George Bush, on the administration do any harm...if they have nothing to hide? Why not turn the lights on the inside of a White House that is very proud of everything it has done? He is now being called "self-serving", a "different Scott McClellan", and "disgruntled" employee (the type of which make the best witnesses in corrupt organizations) who is ticked off--desperate attempts to discredit a credible insider! Pardon me, but just who has been self-serving? Who is this George W. Bush that ran in 2000 on "no nation building" and "judicious use of the military" (versus Clinton's war for democracy in Bosnia, that republicans condemned justly), and as a "uniter not a divider"? And just who, pray tell, is "disgruntled" now, but George W. Bush (his former close friend), Cheney, Libby, Rove, and the rest of the "compartmentalized" and "secretive" cabal surrounding Bush in the White House? Unlike them, Scott McClellan has a conscience, and is intellectually concerned that what he calls "permanent campaigning" (i.e. propaganda) rules the White House, and may continue to do so under either party to the detriment of good government and the American people!

In particular, the propaganda to start the Iraq war, which he admits was a "war to democratize the middle east" (the neoconservative plan from the Project for New American Century, which Cheney, Rumsfeld, Wolfowitz, Jeb Bush, and many others were apart of), and talks about a "secretive" and "compartmentalized" (like a White House within the White House) administration, with Cheney as the man "behind the curtain", who was given "broad authority" to do "whatever" needed done! With these words the fears, suspicions, observations, and conclusions of millions of Americans is now confirmed--i.e. that the Bush administration is a secretive rogue government, run by a tight knit cabal (conspiracy) that is dishonest with the American people about terrorism and war.

This is a major story breaking. The New York Sun is interestingly giving air to it, but you can be sure the propagandists will jump on this to try to discredit the UN official immediately.

What is interesting is that he is an Israeli policy watcher from Princeton University and here he is saying there is significant and due cause for suspicion in looking at the neoconservatives role in 9/11, which many claim was a false flag attack to blame Arabs and trigger the neocon agenda outlined by the Project for New American Century and their blueprint for a new middle east via wars for regime change .

Most of the neoconservatives are pro-Zionist Jews with close alliances to the Israeli radical Likudnik party, with Benjamin Netanyahu. In fact, Larry Silverstein, lease-holder of the WTC complex who purchased the lease only months prior to 9/11 is close personal friends with Netanyahu.

Gravel Throws Rocks to Wake Americans Up: Election Meaningless without Impeachment and Constitutional Rule of Law

Patrick Henry and the founding fathers made an appearance by way of Mike Gravel's powerful article. Here is an excerpt, to which every American, unless they are traitors, must give support to and upon it take action instead of watching sports and entertainment while the remnants of legitimate government are overthrown. Anyone who blindly supports the present elections as a means of "change" is self-deluded, by definition, as Gravel in his article points out:

Without Impeachment before we choose the next Administration, we as a Nation will be setting a legal precedent. We will be saying yes to the systematic destruction of the Constitution and Bill of Rights engineered by Vice President Cheney and President Bush, and will be formally agreeing to the end of American Democracy. We, as Americans, will be giving our approval and consent to the idea that the Vice President and President are indeed above the law, that they are in fact a law unto themselves.

Cheney and Bush have openly boasted about their supposed right to break the law. This administration has claimed that it has the right to spy on Americans without a warrant. This administration has decided that it has no obligation to respond to any lawful subpoenas from Congress, and that it may invoke Presidential signing statements to declare its right to ignore any Federal Law. This administration thinks it has the authority to arbitrarily strip any American of his or her citizenship.

This administration has illegally declared that it has supreme overriding authority. The Vice President and the President have accumulated and consolidated unprecedented power that has replaced the co-equal system of checks and balances mandated by the Constitution with a new Imperial Presidency. This imperialism has given the President far-reaching powers that our founding fathers would quickly recognize as tyranny.

The illegitimate authority of this newly constructed imperial Presidency – this Supreme Commander-in-Chief created by Cheney and Bush – has replaced the Rule-of-Law based on the Constitution and Bill of Rights.

Our system of co-equal branches of government, the unique and revolutionary principle of American Democracy, the great leap of faith that people could actually govern themselves, has been subverted. It is now almost dead.

So the CIA it appears is guilty of perjury, or obstruction of justice, yet Bush gave Tenent the American Freedom medal.

House Judiciary Members Call for Impeachment of Cheney NOW!

Faced with an obstructionist leadership in the House, and a mainstream media that have forsaken their role as a Fourth Estate monitor of government abuse, three Democratic members of the House Judiciary Committee are calling on the public to demand that the Congress initiate impeachment hearings immediately against Vice President Dick Cheney.

Wexler, a six-term congressman seeking re-election, says, “I believe that there is a constitutional obligation for the Congress to hold this administration accountable, and it should not depend on what people think the impact might be on an election. The only question should be: Did Vice President Cheney abuse his powers?” He adds, “If the American people believe that the democrats are holding a legitimate inquiry into serious issues of constitutional importance, they will not hold it against them. And besides, initial polling would indicate that this is not some off-the-reservation idea.”

After all PERJURY for the purpose to initiate the war in Iraq, "fixing the intelligence around the policy" to do so, is a "high crime", no "misdemeanor".

They compared the results with their anthrax database. They found a match: a virulent type called the Ames strain. The U.S. Army developed the lab strain in the 1980s as a test for the anthrax vaccine. The anthrax-spiked letters, which sickened 22 and killed five Americans, had been "weaponized." Someone Cheney's bioterrorists had concentrated the bacterial spores to make them easier to inhale and more lethal.

In fact their comment about Cheney has more credibility than some may think since it was Cheney who had the White House staff put on Cipro (the treatment for anthrax) just prior to 9/11, something Judicial Watch has questioned.

Despite "Allah is Great" on the fake letters from an elementary school, the FBI concurs that it was not a foreign terrorist attack, so then it must have been a "false flag" to paint it as if Islamists had done it. Now just who would do that?

Scott Ritter on the NIE Report and War With Iran

The Truthdig columnist (and WMD expert) warns that war with Iran could be inevitable, despite the National Intelligence Estimate report that says Iran dismantled its nuclear program in 2003. Bush, Ritter argues, doesn’t let facts get in the way of what he wants.

Pearl Harbor: Day of Deceit; and its Relevance to 9/11

Americans are rather superstitious when it comes to remembering historical events and sentimentalism (the purpose behind memorials) usually trumps truth, as the propagandists prefer. If Americans knew more accurately the facts behind the history they would be more wary and fearful of trusting the federal government, and see how far it has rebelled against its own Constitution and strayed from the very basis of its own independence from Britain's tyranny. They would stop painting Presidents as if they were good Christian men or making judgments as if one political party is good and the other evil. Today, Pearl Harbor Day, is a good time to call attention to this, and the context of the continuing "war on terrorism" (a key subject with the 2008 candidates) should be considered in light of the truth behind Pearl Harbor.

Americans have been far too trusting of their government until the "new Pearl Harbor", 9/11, came into play and was used to justify pre-emptive wars. After 9/11 many Americans began to question the official story of that event in light of the evidence, especially given the following:

1. The WTC Towers' perfect symmetrical, exploding collapse at virtual free-fall speed (a physical impossibility in mere collapse), which had all the appearance of controlled demolition, and especially in that the towers were designed to sustain multiple impacts of 707 airliners, and that fires never destroy steel towers.

2. The government's official story, along with media interviews with neoconservative "experts", that Arab hijackers and Usama bin Laden, (later called Islamic jihadists "who hate us because we are free"), were blamed immediatelydespite the lack of evidence, and contrary to the denials of such by bin Laden and the Taliban alike in foreign press.

3. The lack of any identifiable plane wreckage at the WTC, the Pentagon, or in Shanksville; the lack of autopsies or any identification or recovery of "Arab hijackers" on the flights.

4. That simultaneous war games were coincidentally in operation on 9/11, which provided ideal cover and confusion for the FAA that day, which also involved hijacking scenarios and tied up NORAD operations from scrambling planes.

5. That Pres. Bush stated in two town halls in Dec. '01 and Jan. '02 that he had seen the first "plane hit the tower" on "a TV", prior to entering the classroom of the Florida elementary school, where subsequently he was notified of the second attack. It is impossible for him to have seen the first tower strike on a TV unless prior arrangements were made to monitor the "surprise attack" live!

6. That the neoconservatives (including Dick Cheney, Jeb Bush, Paul Wolfowitz, Donald Rumsfeld, James Woolsey, Dov Zakheim, Douglas Feith, Richard Perle, et al who filled strategic positions in the Bush administration, Pentagon, and media sources as "terrorism experts", had written a blueprint for a "new middle east", advocating what they called "global hegemony" and regime changes in Iraq, Iran, Syria, etc., which they had (under the Project for a New American Century) published in Sept. 2000, with these interesting words:

"The process of transformation [Ed. aggressive global American military adventurism] could be a long one, absent a catalyzing event, like a new Pearl Harbor".

How perfectly 9/11 was then touted to be a "new Pearl Harbor", by Charles Krauthammer (a neocon writing for the Washington Post) and George W. Bush within 24 hours! Could their "catalyzing event like a new Pearl Harbor" and 9/11 be just a mere coincidence, of which also the official story does not fit the reliable evidence? It is difficult to deny that those who benefited most from 9/11 were the neoconservatives and their agenda, and Israel.

New Yorkers were among the first skeptics, as they should be having the most immediate interest. A Zoby poll in Aug. 2004 stated this:

Half of New Yorkers Believe US Leaders Had Foreknowledge of Impending 9-11 Attacks and “Consciously Failed” To Act; 66% Call For New Probe of Unanswered Questions by Congress or New York’s Attorney General, New Zogby International Poll Reveals

Then a Scripps Howard/Ohio University poll of Americans over a year ago showed that Americans have begun to think more critically about the official version of government events, and its motives for war:

More than a third of the American public suspects that federal officials assisted in the 9/11 terrorist attacks or took no action to stop them so the United States could go to war in the Middle East, according to a new Scripps Howard/Ohio University poll.

And even a more recent Zogby poll, Sept. 2007, went largely unreported by the media that summarized the following:

Zogby Poll: 51% of Americans Want Congress to Probe Bush/Cheney Regarding 9/11 Attacks; Over 30% Seek Immediate Impeachment

67% also fault 9/11 Commission for not investigating anomalous collapse of World Trade Center 7

It is evident then that Americans are scrutinizing the federal government, particularly the Executive branch, and its official stories and pretexts for war more closely with greater skepticism. Yet many Americans are either in cognitive dissonance when confronted with the evidence or resist such "conspiracy theories" with this question: "Who would think that anyone in our government would be involved in the death of so many Americans?" A new examination of Pearl Harbor demonstrates that deceit and lies, even conspiracy to permit or enact "attacks", is not beyond the pale of what elements within the government have done in the past. This is sufficient in fact to prove that Americans have been deliberately lied to and tricked before, in the most sinister manner, in order to push Americans into war.
