Spooky iSpy: Feds Defiantly Expanding 'Big Brother' Surveillance on Americans

The Federal power grab continues now under Obama as much as it did under Bush.  Now we did not expect any "change" for the better.  Obama has only tried to add the Nanny State to Bush's Security State, neither of which is Constitutional government.  (And the prospects for the next Presidential election are no better).  It is apparent that the Feds have found a way to circumvent the fact that Congress banned them from setting up their "Total Information Awareness" program, previously attempted under DARPA.  Under the plea of "necessity", for "counter-terrorism" purposes of course, they are resurrecting total electronic surveillance on American emails and phone calls, clearly unlawful per the 4th amendment of the Constitution.

During the Bush administration it was already proven that both AT&T and Verizon had setup a secret system for the same purpose contracted through (guess who) two Israeli companies that would tap and sort all phone data (including hi speed internet) from Americans, per this video interview (with the same author/source of the article below, James Bamford) here:

Note one of the former NSA informants in the article says its like a "turnkey totalitarianism state" being setup, very similar to the word we used to describe the NDAA 2012 act in the previous post.  Exactly!  All this while the government says it's "defending freedom" by these measures to "fight terrorism" since 9/11.

‘Total Information Awareness’ surveillance program returns, bigger than ever | The Raw Story

According to Bamford, the NSA’s new data center in Utah will be the most all-encompassing spy machine ever conceived, capable of breaking almost any encryption, reading any email and recording any phone call anywhere in the world, even if it’s not made over the Internet. A network of ultra-sensitive satellites enhance the center’s intelligence-finding capabilities with the unique ability to sniff electronic communications from a massive distance.

More troubling still, Bamford’s three covert sources who worked for the NSA reportedly claim that the agency is dumping Americans’ communications into the mix, knowingly violating the U.S. Constitution in pursuit of a modern-day Manhattan Project.

When Congress struck down the Pentagon’s “Total Information Awareness” program, they did, however, authorize funding for ”processing, analysis, and collaboration tools for counter terrorism foreign intelligence,” which is precisely how the NSA describes this data center.
...In these latest revelations, one of Bamford’s covert sources claims that the NSA is on the verge of a massive coup, putting the U.S. inches away from “a turnkey totalitarian state.”
The full article is worth reading.  Then watch this quick video where Judge Napolitano (who knows the law and the Constitution) takes the NSA and government to task about a their new online surveillance system called "Perfect Citizen".

Veteran's Day 11-11-11 Revisited: President Herbert Hoover From the Grave-- FDR's WWII was Wrong!

Did you feel it? That great cataclysmic event on 11-11-11? No not a physical one, but a metaphysical one took place. There was no earthquake. But an intellectual tremor and tumult rumbled and broke out as Truth woke up and came forth from the grave. A significant witness from the grave has just been summoned and called to give testimony to today's post-9/11 America, and not too soon.

One of the most controversial books in American history has just been published, and ironically was introduced on November 7, just before the numerically significant Veteran's Day, November 11th, 2011 (11-11-11). What is unique about this particular book is that its author was a U.S. President, who kept it a secret until now, a generation after his death. If this book is not widely announced in major media then Americans should be suspicious as to why Bush and Cheney's recent books, and even Condi Rice's memoirs, would receive more of their attention than that from President Hoover. If America is interested in what Steve Jobs said and wrote before his decease, how much more an American president? Academics and historians are already praising it and shouting about its importance. Veterans in particular should pay attention, for it was their blood put on the line. And before you read on, remember that General Patton was not very keen (to put it mildly) on the U.S. being allies with communist Russia in order to make war on Germany.

From the Academic Journal FIRST PRINCIPLES, George Nash on November 15th wrote this article below introducing former (conservative) President Herbert Hoover's Magnum Opus book, FREEDOM BETRAYED, that has not been published....until now. This book authored by President Hoover is, and will prove to be, an absolute bomb shell, as to how Americans view World War II in future generations, even if this one ignores it willingly.

The Truth never long remains buried, but is always called eventually by the God of Providence into a resurrection, and rises again to indict and charge its unjust persecutors who thought it put away like Joseph into slavery (the Bible), a Tell-Tale Heart (Poe) from a corpse behind a brick wall, or pulled off in secret like a Watergate break-in (Nixon's plumbers). Do the American people really blindly believe the wars the government pushes us into are always justified, and therefore should be glorified? This cross-examination of America under FDR's presidency and WWII history by the credible President Hoover will not be so easy to dismiss. It also touches upon the real truth about the "Red Scare" in America and whether Communism was in fact infiltrating U.S. government, as he believed it was. Wasn't it FDR in fact that pushed and passed the Social(ist) Security Act, the first Welfare and Entitlement, and communistic Big Government program? Those who know American history know that FDR who led America to war (like Wilson) also pushed the New Deal programs that many claim President Obama has imitated even as a perpetual "war on terrorism" (for Global Democracy, in truth) is waged with bipartisan support. But I digress.

The typical unquestioning, flag-waving view of America's involvement in WWII (which actually turned it into a world war in fact) is held sacred every Veteran's Day in particular and is indoctrinated through the government school system and government-media complex so that subsequent generations have had to genuflect in praise without thinking more sagaciously about the war against Hitler's Germany and the "Empire of Japan" (FDR's words). Neither is a moral thought hardly given to the real holocausts (death by burning) of dropping 2 Atomic Bombs on two civilian cities in Japan or the total incineration of the civilian city of Dresden, Germany by U.S. and its allies with firebombs. (Strictly legally and morally speaking, these were war crimes, as much as General Sherman burning Southern cities during the un-Civil War.  Talk about killing and targeting "non-combatants" or "collateral damage"! Don't get me started about the especially developed "Holocaust" propaganda machine that has been used to justify the controversial war after it was finished to further inflame emotional passions through entire fabrications and lying statistics). If the average American today had been alive in the 1930s and 40s their view of the justification for the war against Germany in particular would be as controversial as the post-war reflection today about Iraq. Americans did not want to go to war against Germany and it posed no imminent threat to the U.S..  Pearl Harbor was the "catalyzing event", like a 9/11 (see the neoconservatives Project for New American Century's quote about this), to justify war with Japan, and then Germany as their ally.

More of the truth challenging the official story and justification for WWII has been published recently (see our Bookstore below). Military author Robert Stinnett published his book DAY OF DECEIT: THE TRUTH ABOUT FDR AND PEARL HARBOR, as a military participant and expert, laying out the documented proof that FDR tricked Americans into war against Germany by a deliberate conspiracy to provoke Japan to attack the U.S. Pacific Fleet (e.g. sending them from San Diego to a sitting duck position in Hawaii, like bait for sharks). The book is an eye-opener enough. Even more recently conservative and former republican presidential candidate Patrick Buchanan published his book called CHURCHILL, HITLER, AND THE UNNECESSARY WAR, which amazingly is now being vindicated by President Hoover's book now published long after his decease! AMERICANS NOW NEED TO WAKE UP TO THESE SIGNIFICANT AND CREDIBLE WITNESSES THAT TESTIFY IN NO UNCERTAIN TERMS THAT AMERICA'S GOING TO WAR AND FOMENTING IT INTO WORLD WAR II WAS BASED ON DELIBERATE CONSPIRACY, DISHONESTY, AND CONTRARY TO THE GOOD OF AMERICA AND THE WORLD, THE CONSEQUENCES OF WHICH WE ARE STILL REAPING TODAY.

It is also a solid proof as to why now, before the 2012 presidential elections, Americans should more thoroughly, constitutionally, and dispassionately consider just why both major parties have candidates (mainly CFR members) who are invoking war with Iran, among others, for continued wars for Democracy and giving foreign aid and allying with other countries who even have contrary principles (e.g. Israel is undemocratic and blatantly racist and has WMD, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, et al), upon false pretenses of "terrorist threat", "WMD" and rhetorical "mushroom clouds" (Gingrich pulled that to justify the PATRIOT ACT yesterday in debate against Ron Paul), as the U.S. government enlarges itself and continues to trample our Constitution and lead us toward Global Government, while indebting and bankrupting itself, ruining our money and economy on our hard-working backs. As former President Hoover will show, the Great Deceiver, Franklin D. Roosevelt, did the same thing, and unfortunately, though challenged, got away with it. But now historical truth catches and indicts him for what he did, so that hopefully Americans today can prevent it again, and see more clearly exactly the mess we are in today by consequence.

Freedom Betrayed
George H. Nash - 11/15/11

In November 1951, a public relations executive named John W. Hill met Herbert Hoover at a dinner in New York City. It was an unhappy time in the United States, especially for conservative Republicans. Abroad, the Korean War had turned into a bloody stalemate that President Harry Truman’s administration seemed unable to end. Earlier in the year, the president had abruptly dismissed General Douglas MacArthur, a conservative hero, from America’s Far Eastern military command, to the consternation of Hoover and millions of others. At home, Truman’s liberal Democratic administration was under furious assault from conservative critics of its policies toward communist regimes overseas and communist subversion within our borders.

How quickly the world had changed since the close of the Second World War a few years earlier. Then the future had seemed bright with promise. Nazi Germany and imperial Japan had been crushed; fascism as an ideology had been discredited; the birth of the United Nations had appeared to presage an era of global peace. Now, a mere six years later, in Asia and along the Iron Curtain in Europe, a third world war—this time against communist Russia and China—seemed a distinct possibility.

“Mr. Hoover,” said Hill that November evening, “the world is in one hell of a mess, isn’t it?”

“It certainly is,” Hoover replied.

“It has always occurred to me,” Hill continued, “that we are in this mess because of the mistakes of statesmen. Somebody ought to write a book [on the subject] like [E. S. Creasy’s] ‘Fifteen Decisive Battles of the World’; I think it would be a classic.”

“You are absolutely right,” Hoover responded. “That should be done, and I am going to tell you what should be the first chapter.”

“What is that?” asked Hill.

“When Roosevelt put America in to help Russia as Hitler invaded Russia in June, 1941. We should have let those two bastards annihilate themselves.”

Hill was delighted. “That would be a great book. Why don’t you write it, Mr. Hoover?”

“I haven’t the time,” Hoover countered. “Why don’t you write it?”

What Hill did not know—and what Hoover, that evening, did not tell him—was that for several years Hoover had been at work on a book with a similar theme: a comprehensive, critical history of American diplomacy between the late 1930s and 1945, with emphasis on the misguided policies of President Roosevelt. It was a volume in which the Roosevelt administration’s wartime alliance with the Soviet Union would be subject to withering scrutiny.

Twenty years later, in 1971, in a conversation with an interviewer, Hill lamented that no one had ever written the book he had once proposed to Hoover on “The Fifteen Decisive Blunders of Statesmen.” “I have always wished somebody would do it,” he added. “It would be controversial because every one of the decisions the author stated would cause trouble, would cause somebody to come up and defend it, and the book would sell like hotcakes.”

What Hill did not realize was that nearly eight years earlier Hoover had completed his own book of diplomatic blunders. Unlike the scattershot collection of essays that Hill had envisaged, Hoover’s tome was tightly focused. Originally conceived as the section of his memoirs that would cover his life during World War II, the “War Book” (as he called it) had morphed into something far more ambitious: an unabashed, revisionist reexamination of the entire war—and a sweeping indictment of the “lost statesmanship” of Franklin Roosevelt.

Hoover ultimately entitled his manuscript Freedom Betrayed. More informally, and with a touch of humor, he and his staff came to refer to it as the Magnum Opus. The label was apt. For nearly two decades, beginning in 1944, the former president labored over his massive manuscript, producing draft after draft, “edition” after “edition.” He finished the final version (save for some minor editing and additional fact-checking) in September 1963 and prepared in the ensuing months for the book’s publication. Death came first, on October 20, 1964. A little over two months earlier, he had turned ninety years old.

After Hoover’s passing, his heirs decided not to publish his Magnum Opus. Since then, for nearly half a century, it has remained in storage, unavailable for examination.

The new volume Freedom Betrayed presents the book in its final, author-approved edition of 1963–64. It is published—and its contents thereby made available to scholars—for the first time.

A Civil War Podcast: Why Virginia Seceded, West Virginia Formed

Presently there is a 150th Anniversary called a Sesquicentennial of the Civil War ongoing that is supported by State governments for tourism as well as for American education.  West Virginia's Sesquicentennial website is here.  It is an excellent time (and very relevant to today) to reconsider this major event in American history which transformed America.

The link below will take you to an excellent podcast tracing weekly the events leading up to and including the so-called Civil War from a Longwood University professor in Virginia which is worth subscribing to. Every American should know the documented truth (not the politically-correct propaganda version) about this Great Conflict which cost the lives of over 620,000 Americans, more than all U.S. wars combined. History is absolutely essential for discovering our present context which puts and interprets current events in better light. The history of the Civil War teaches alot about the true nature of the present U.S. Federal Government, which changed entirely from this historic event, despite flying a similar flag. Every family, and school, could benefit from this short weekly podcast.

The Civil War was nothing less than another Revolution of Government (for that is what the Southern States declared in justification of their seceding) in which the northern section, and their principles, usurped and turned the Federal Government in Washington D.C. into a Central Power over the previously sovereign and independent states. Slavery was only part of the issue, which even Lincoln declared he had no right to abolish or outlaw when he took office (as the earlier podcasts prove), for the larger principles of Union and Liberty came into conflict, i.e. National Federalism vs. State's Rights. What is now called Big Government began here with a war waged by Washington D.C. against the States who formed her! Thus the Union was "saved" or reformed at gunpoint. To be brought back into a union by force most all will recognize as some form of tyranny instead of freedom. Ironically, those who opposed a centralized power in Washington were then the Democrats (back then Dixie-crats!), and it was Lincoln's radical (called "Red") Republicans who wanted to tyrannize the states, contrary to "Tea Partiers" today!

Nothing highlights more how the Federal Government changed than this podcast here since it includes the Secession of Virginia and the formation of West Virginia, which is obscured in the title. Virginia had voted against secession until President Lincoln tried to raise armies in the southern states to wage war against the states seceding. That changed everything, and Virginia seceded on April 17, 1961 (see Ordinance of Secession in previous post). Every West Virginian should know this and also read the State Cultural Center's archives on the formation of West Virginia, "An Illegal Act?" which is enlightening for a better understanding about both the U.S. government and this state's origins.

150 Years Ago: Virginia Secedes From Union, Federal Government Perverted Its Powers

                Virginia Ordinance of Secession
April 17, 1861 Virgina Secession Convention approves the wording of a referendum of secession and calls for a popular vote to approve it.

AN ORDINANCE to repeal the ratification of the Constitution of the United State of America by the State of Virginia, and to resume all the rights and powers granted under said Constitution.

The people of Virginia in their ratification of the Constitution of the United States of America, adopted by them in convention on the twenty-fifth day of June, in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and eighty-eight, having declared that the powers granted under said Constitution were derived from the people of the United States and might be resumed whensoever the same should be perverted to their injury and oppression, and the Federal Government having perverted said powers not only to the injury of the people of Virginia, but to the oppression of the Southern slave-holding States:

Now, therefore, we, the people of Virginia, do declare and ordain, That the ordinance adopted by the people of this State in convention on the twenty-fifth day of June, in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and eighty-eight, whereby the Constitution of the United States of America was ratified, and all acts of the General Assembly of this State ratifying and adopting amendments to said Constitution, are hereby repealed and abrogated; that the union between the State of Virginia and the other States under the Constitution aforesaid is hereby dissolved, and that the State of Virginia is in the full possession and exercise of all the rights of sovereignty which belong and appertain to a free and independent State.

And they do further declare, That said Constitution of the United States of America is no longer binding on any of the citizens of this State.

This ordinance shall take effect and be an act of this day, when ratified by a majority of the voter of the people of this State cast at a poll to be taken thereon on the fourth Thursday in May next, in pursuance of a schedule hereafter to be enacted.

Adopted by the convention of Virginia April 17,1861.

Big Government's Big Secret: The Homeland Security-Industrial Complex

Most everyone, especially among conservatives, have been complaining vehemently about Big Government with just cause.  However, even with the newly elected West Virginia GOP chairman, Mike Stuart, who claims to be a part of the very undefined "tea party" movement, we have heard no willingness to touch the great Leviathan in government that dwarfs the rest of government spending.  That untouchable part would be what is termed "National Defense" (which largely funds Offensive wars for democracy), which has since that "catalyzing event", Sept. 11th, with bipartisan flag-waving support, added a new fraternal twin domestically called Homeland Security.

This new and very unconstitutional agency cloaked in secrecy is nothing less than the beginning of what could be called (in retort to their propaganda) "Home-Grown Fascism".  And mark this, this is the part of Big Government that the neo-republicans, who claim to stand for the Constitution and "limited government" (we wish!), along with the cowardly democrats, are unwilling to question, challenge its legitimacy, or take the budget knife to thus far, even though most other spending issues are minuscule in comparison.  It's time to stop straining at gnats while swallowing camels.  If republicans in particular believe in constitutional and limited government, and "individual liberty" is still part of their platform (which this Leviathan agency also threatens, trampling the 4th amendment in particular), then its time to put Homeland Security spending out in the open and on the table with budget axes in hand.

Republican Congressman Ron Paul foresaw the Big Government (and Big Brother) coming when Homeland Security was proposed before Congress and warned of what would happen in his article The Homeland Security Monstrosity.  He of course was right while the politically-correct blind supporters of the RINO George W. Bush were wrong.  He has just published a new press release on The Bloated Intelligence Bureaucracy, based on this very issue.

In the video below Former National Security adviser Richard Clark here talks with ABC about what could be called the Homeland Security-Industrial Complex (you heard it here first), its Leviathan and secret budgets and a labyrinth of tentacles that reach across the country while everyone from the White House to Congress looks the other way.  The context of the discussion is the Washington Post's new video report called Top Secret America which is bringing some good national attention to this matter.  Note in particular Clark criticism of the Post's report in not going far enough, i.e. the secret spending and extensive spending through government contractors (outsourced secret spending), and names in particular Booz Allen Hamilton, a major contractor benefiting from Homeland Security and the "war on terror", which is loaded with neoconservatives like James Woolsey.  That was a very strong hint on his part as to where the real attention and scrutiny should be directed.

Nullification: How to Fix Washington Without Congress

The doctrine of Nullification is being revived. The States and local governments have power to resist Federal legislation and control and burdensome programs, lawfully, via the same powers that the Declaration of Independence and Constitution--and their framers--originally asserted.

This is not partisan (except when parties unjustly favor their own pet Federal controls over the States). This actually began to be revived during the Bush administration when states and local governments began passing resolutions or non compliance against the USA PATRIOT ACT and REAL ID.

The States formed the Federal Government, not the Federal government the States, and therefore when it does not function according to the Constitution as a compact they have every right to resist and Nullify any usurpations of power, whether legislative or otherwise.

A legislative act, contrary to the Constitution, is not law.

West Virginia Senate Bill Reasserts State's Rights vs. Federal Encroachments

From West Virginia Watchdog, great coverage on this excellent legislation linked below.

It is very important to note on this subject that the West Virginia Constitution has these leading articles, already very powerful (wisely embedded by Confederate-leaning legislators to prevent the tyranny of Federal Reconstruction and further Federal Despotism after the Civil War) which every Mountaineer should memorize and ought to be taught in school, that still draw a Constitutional line in the sand for the Federal government:

1-2.  Internal government and police.
The government of the United States is a government of enumerated powers, and all powers not delegated to it, nor inhibited to the states, are reserved to the states or to the people thereof.  Among the powers so reserved to the states is the exclusive regulation of their own internal government and police; and it is the high and solemn duty of the several departments of government, created by this constitution, to guard and protect the people of this state from all [i.e. Federal] encroachments upon the rights so reserved.
 1-3.  Continuity of constitutional operation.
The provisions of the constitution of the United States, and of this state, are operative alike in a period of war as in time of peace, and any departure therefrom, or violation thereof, under the plea of necessity, or any other plea, is subversive of good government, and tends to anarchy and despotism.

The legislature and Governors thus far have ignored these provisions when establishing the federal REAL ID (national ID driver's licenses) and by not resisting the tyrannical and unpatriotic USA PATRIOT ACT (made illegal, however, by Huntington, West Virginia, on these very grounds) under the "plea of necessity" after the 9/11 "catalyzing event" and the cry of "terrorism".  The Constitution is to be upheld by the State government, per the Supreme Law of West Virginia, against all federal claims of "necessity", to protect West Virginians from federal usurpations of power.  The Governor and legislators and Supreme Court Judges all swear to "uphold" the State and Federal Constitutions upon taking office, while they clearly have not.

It was former Supreme Court Justice John Marshall who wrote:
A legislative act, contrary to the Constitution, is not law".

While this proposed Resolution would have been even more powerful during the post-9/11 Bush administrations (when republicans went stark blind to the Constitution--when a Tea Party was needed!) in expanding the usurping federal Security and Surveillance State, it is appropriate (although a bit partisan and bias) to invoke it now as the Obama Nanny State (i.e. Health Care, Economic and Environmental Reform) is erected, including an economic and environmental agenda that threatens to undermine West Virginia in particular.  Before Democrats cry "partisan bill" too loud, however, they should recall that even Senator Byrd warned that the Obama administration could be on a federal "power grab" of its own.  It must be added that our Congressional representatives in Washington on this have failed us (and violated their oaths), for they voted for the above legislation and fell for the "plea of necessity" (although Sen. Byrd recanted and voted against extending the USA PATRIOT ACT after seeing the light of the Constitution on it later).  Partisanship needs to drop to the floor and the Constitution should be reinstated as the non-partisan Supreme Law that it is on this matter.

The West Virginia Constitution requires and demands the Governor and State government defend West Virginia's sovereignty (resolution or not) but it should be applied impartially against all federal legislation that usurps State's rights.  Any governor or legislator that disagrees with the State Constitution or 10th Amendment on this principle of State Sovereignty vs. Federal Encroachments has lied upon taking their "oath" and is unfit for political office, period.  And it is the duty of the public to hold them all to it!

"Mountaineers are always free" only if the state government obeys the State (and Federal) Constitutions impartially.

State Senate to Consider W.Va. Sovereignty Resolution

By Steven Allen Adams on February 8, 2010

A resolution that would declare West Virginia’s sovereignty under the U.S. Constitution was introduced yesterday in the State Senate and referred to the Senate Judiciary Committee.
Senate Concurrent Resolution 20 would reassert that state’s sovereignty under the U.S. Constitution’s 1oth Amendment. From the resolution:
…Be it resolved by the Legislature of West Virginia: That the State of West Virginia reasserts sovereignty under the Tenth Amendment to the Constitution of the United States over all powers not otherwise enumerated and granted to the federal government by the Constitution of the United States; and, be it
Further Resolved, That all compulsory federal legislation that directs states to comply under threat of civil or criminal penalties or sanctions or requires states to pass legislation or lose federal funding be prohibited or repealed; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Clerks of both houses forward a copy of this resolution to President Barack Obama and all members of West Virginia’s Congressional Delegation.
The 10th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution states that “The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.”
The resolution is the brainchild of State Sen. Donna Boley, R-Pleasants, and is co-sponsored by the following State Senators: Clark Barnes, R-Randolph; Mike Hall, R-Putnam; Frank Deem, R-Wood; Don Caruth, R-Mercer; Dave Sypolt, R-Preston; Karen Facemyer, R-Jackson; Jesse Guills, R-Greenbrier; and Robert Plymale, D-Wayne.
“What we’ve seen going on in Washington D.C. is a lot of the federal government reaching out and taking power away from the states or mandating to the states things they should not be mandating to the states,” explained Boley in a conversation with West Virginia Watchdog.

Tea Parties Are Not Enough: The Duty of Americans to Resist a Rogue Federal Government

If Americans want to restore freedom and check the power of corrupt government they will have to man-up and do it themselves. Elections will not restrain it and "tea parties" are likewise impotent.

If the Constitution doesn't expressly give jurisdiction to the federal government over a certain subject, it may not act on it.
....Today, most of us are Subjects of a corrupt government. ...But we are not powerless. We, in fact, should not allow the government to act wrongfully against us....If a law doesn't fit, you must acquit!...We do not need to wait for a ruling from a judge to nix an unjust prosecution. We do not need to wait for the "right" politicians to erect the "right" legislation to take back our inalienable rights. We people are the ultimate check against despotic government authoritarians. Effective use of trial by jury is deadly to government bureaucrats, politicians, and their henchman. It's a highly efficient and bloodless form of rebellion.
Shall we take back our Liberty now?

Then read about the power of Jury Nullification here.

Oppressive Government

There is no entity that is more obnoxious than government. No entity kills more. No entity plunders more. No one entity violates more individual rights more often, with more impunity. And none spews more propaganda and lies. History proves this beyond a shadow of a doubt. Be it a monarchy, oligarchy, union of socialist republics, or a communist Nation-State like the people's republic of china, you can rest assured that a big powerful government will be the bane of Liberty every time. It has always been this way. Government must be checked. Bureaucrats must be resisted. They must be over-ruled.
A corrupt government is one that extends unlawful jurisdiction over the people it is supposed to protect. A corrupt government is one that legislates beyond its rightful power by erecting laws that do injury to liberty, justice...
The Constitution of the United States was ordained with the primary object being the defense of Liberty.

Danger--America Becoming Statist: First Bush, Now Obama

Note: First the Security or Police State then the Nanny State. This is a must-read article, and hopefully an eye-opener to those still stuck in the "left" or "right" paradigm of thinking of partisan politics, both of which pick and chose which parts of the Constitution they want to dismantle for desired ends.

Put the Bush and Obama policies together, sprinkle in a couple more terrorist attacks, and one or two more state-caused financial calamities, and you have a recipe for . . .

* The destruction of American liberty
* The blossoming of a Leviathan State
clipped from www.downsizedc.org

The End of Statism (after its rise)

President Bush and the Republican Congress expanded government more than any administration in history. They also laid the basic foundations for a future police state. Now, President Obama and the Democratic Congress have . . .

  • Retained, and in some cases expanded, all the Bush-era policies -- the wars, the PATRIOT Act, warrantless spying, REAL ID, imprisonment without due process, extraordinary rendition, etc.
  • Begun to extend the already existing foundations for a future socialist state with things like direct government ownership of businesses, the health care bill, cap and trade, and a host of other measures big and small

We are living through a Statist revolution.

Civil War Days in Hurricane, West Virginia

It's that time of year again, to remember the so-called Civil War, actually the War of Northern Aggression, which expanded and centralized Federal power over the states, overthrowing the Constitution by a northern majority in Congress for a Democratic Despotism where "majority rules".

The event itself is great, tracing the historic battle of Scary Creek (where Confederates taught the Yankees a hard lesson), but the politically-correct spin (for victor's always write the history) always tries to glorify Abraham Lincoln (who was a tyrant and Great Consolidator--Walter Williams), as if this were a just war, instead of the beginning of imperialist Wars for Democracy on American soil, costing over 600,000 lives (greater than all other U.S. wars combined!), that preceded the latter world wars under the same pretense (see Pat Buchanan's book: "Churchill, Hitler, and the Unnecessary War" at the bookstore at bottom).

This year's event will have a replica of the first American submarine to sink an enemy ship, which was the Confederate States C.S.S. Hunley.

Raising of the C.S.A. Hunley, Charleston, SC 2000

This video is from the 2008 event, very amateur, but in one take with some authentic historical music (by Bobby Horton) set to it.
