Propaganda vs. The Truth about the (Unconstitutional, Communistic) Income Tax

Until 1913 there was no Income Tax on Americans (taxation based upon your earnings and income from labor).  It was unconstitutional to have such a tyrannical individual income tax because it was contrary to private property rights and basic civil liberty as a free American, i.e. that you own your own labor and income derived from it.  (Taxes are a necessity of all governments, but not a demanded tax on personal income!).  In order to force this ruse on Americans, which was ruled "unconstitutional" in 1895, Congress had to amend the Constitution with a 16th Amendment and there is legitimate controversy as to whether it was properly ratified by the states.  It is also common knowledge that a graduated income tax is a communist principle, whereby everyone works for the common government by their labor.  It is in fact a key plank in the Communist Manifesto (see plank 2)!  That's right, slavery was not abolished in America, everyone was merely given universal equality in the Government's Plantation.  Everyone's labor is now owned and claimed by the government.

So the government has always had to portray it as "patriotic" to pay Income Taxes which is setup as some kind of sign of moral righteousness to be a "good American".  The propaganda used to sell this is a proof that natural objections must be overcome to brainwash Americans into believing that it should be a thing of pride instead of subjugation and shame.

The following two videos in this regard are very enlightening and illustrate two contrasting views.  The Income Tax was introduced primarily as a means of financing an American war machine as an "arsenal of democracy" leading toward a system of world government with the ideals represented by the United Nations (also led by FDR, in context with the first video).   Republicans in particular should recall the great opposition they had historically toward FDR's New Deal (socialist) policies, also ruled as unconstitutional; a type and pattern that President Obama has followed almost precisely.  The truth is that both republicans and democrats have supported this same utopian global military vision of expanding "democracy" through wars for "regime change" which the Income Tax has been used to fund and support.

The "axis" enemy just has a different name now:  Fascism Terrorism.

This kind of propaganda, making use of a cartoon to persuade Americans is frankly insulting, demeaning, and represents the stupid and childish mentality of the American mind.  It is also worth noting that the U.S. united and allied with the Communist Soviet Union to join Great Britain in the war against Germany (which the vast majority of Americans opposed until Japan, which was allied with Germany, bombed Pearl Harbor), which this propaganda film alludes to.  (See our previous article about President Herbert Hoover's opposition to WWII as well as a book by Pat Buchanan, where both claim that American freedom was "betrayed").

Veteran's Day 11-11-11 Revisited: President Herbert Hoover From the Grave-- FDR's WWII was Wrong!

Did you feel it? That great cataclysmic event on 11-11-11? No not a physical one, but a metaphysical one took place. There was no earthquake. But an intellectual tremor and tumult rumbled and broke out as Truth woke up and came forth from the grave. A significant witness from the grave has just been summoned and called to give testimony to today's post-9/11 America, and not too soon. 

One of the most controversial books in American history has just been published, and ironically was introduced on November 7, just before the numerically significant Veteran's Day, November 11th, 2011 (11-11-11). What is unique about this particular book is that its author was a U.S. President, who kept it a secret until now, a generation after his death. If this book is not widely announced in major media then Americans should be suspicious as to why Bush and Cheney's recent books, and even Condi Rice's memoirs, would receive more of their attention than that from President Hoover. If America is interested in what Steve Jobs said and wrote before his decease, how much more an American president? Academics and historians are already praising it and shouting about its importance. Veterans in particular should pay attention, for it was their blood put on the line. And before you read on, remember that General Patton was not very keen (to put it mildly) on the U.S. being allies with communist Russia in order to make war on Germany.

From the Academic Journal FIRST PRINCIPLES, George Nash on November 15th wrote this article below introducing former (conservative) President Herbert Hoover's Magnum Opus book, FREEDOM BETRAYED, that has not been published....until now. This book authored by President Hoover is, and will prove to be, an absolute bomb shell, as to how Americans view World War II in future generations, even if this one ignores it willingly.

The Truth never long remains buried, but is always called eventually by the God of Providence into a resurrection, and rises again to indict and charge its unjust persecutors who thought it put away like Joseph into slavery (the Bible), a Tell-Tale Heart (Poe) from a corpse behind a brick wall, or pulled off in secret like a Watergate break-in (Nixon's plumbers). Do the American people really blindly believe the wars the government pushes us into are always justified, and therefore should be glorified? This cross-examination of America under FDR's presidency and WWII history by the credible President Hoover will not be so easy to dismiss. It also touches upon the real truth about the "Red Scare" in America and whether Communism was in fact infiltrating U.S. government, as he believed it was. Wasn't it FDR in fact that pushed and passed the Social(ist) Security Act, the first Welfare and Entitlement, and communistic Big Government program? Those who know American history know that FDR who led America to war (like Wilson) also pushed the New Deal programs that many claim President Obama has imitated even as a perpetual "war on terrorism" (for Global Democracy, in truth) is waged with bipartisan support. But I digress.

The typical unquestioning, flag-waving view of America's involvement in WWII (which actually turned it into a world war in fact) is held sacred every Veteran's Day in particular and is indoctrinated through the government school system and government-media complex so that subsequent generations have had to genuflect in praise without thinking more sagaciously about the war against Hitler's Germany and the "Empire of Japan" (FDR's words). Neither is a moral thought hardly given to the real holocausts (death by burning) of dropping 2 Atomic Bombs on two civilian cities in Japan or the total incineration of the civilian city of Dresden, Germany by U.S. and its allies with firebombs. (Strictly legally and morally speaking, these were war crimes, as much as General Sherman burning Southern cities during the un-Civil War.  Talk about killing and targeting "non-combatants" or "collateral damage"! Don't get me started about the especially developed "Holocaust" propaganda machine that has been used to justify the controversial war after it was finished to further inflame emotional passions through entire fabrications and lying statistics). If the average American today had been alive in the 1930s and 40s their view of the justification for the war against Germany in particular would be as controversial as the post-war reflection today about Iraq. Americans did not want to go to war against Germany and it posed no imminent threat to the U.S..  Pearl Harbor was the "catalyzing event", like a 9/11 (see the neoconservatives Project for New American Century's quote about this), to justify war with Japan, and then Germany as their ally.

Military author Robert Stinnett published his book DAY OF DECEIT: THE TRUTH ABOUT FDR AND PEARL HARBOR, as a military participant and expert, laying out the documented proof that FDR tricked Americans into war against Germany by a deliberate conspiracy to provoke Japan to attack the U.S. Pacific Fleet (e.g. sending them from San Diego to a sitting duck position in Hawaii, like bait for sharks). The book is an eye-opener enough. Even more recently conservative and former republican presidential candidate Patrick Buchanan published his book called CHURCHILL, HITLER, AND THE UNNECESSARY WAR, which amazingly is now being vindicated by President Hoover's book now published long after his decease! AMERICANS NOW NEED TO WAKE UP TO THESE SIGNIFICANT AND CREDIBLE WITNESSES THAT TESTIFY IN NO UNCERTAIN TERMS THAT AMERICA'S GOING TO WAR AND FOMENTING IT INTO WORLD WAR II WAS BASED ON DELIBERATE CONSPIRACY, DISHONESTY, AND CONTRARY TO THE GOOD OF AMERICA AND THE WORLD, THE CONSEQUENCES OF WHICH WE ARE STILL REAPING TODAY.

It is also a solid proof as to why now, before the 2012 presidential elections, Americans should more thoroughly, constitutionally, and dispassionately consider just why both major parties have candidates (mainly CFR members) who are invoking war with Iran, among others, for continued wars for Democracy and giving foreign aid and allying with other countries who even have contrary principles (e.g. Israel is undemocratic and blatantly racist and has WMD, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, et al), upon false pretenses of "terrorist threat", "WMD" and rhetorical "mushroom clouds" (Gingrich pulled that to justify the PATRIOT ACT yesterday in debate against Ron Paul), as the U.S. government enlarges itself and continues to trample our Constitution and lead us toward Global Government, while indebting and bankrupting itself, ruining our money and economy on our hard-working backs. As former President Hoover will show, the Great Deceiver, Franklin D. Roosevelt, did the same thing, and unfortunately, though challenged, got away with it. But now historical truth catches and indicts him for what he did, so that hopefully Americans today can prevent it again, and see more clearly exactly the mess we are in today by consequence.

In November 1951, a public relations executive named John W. Hill met Herbert Hoover at a dinner in New York City. It was an unhappy time in the United States, especially for conservative Republicans. Abroad, the Korean War had turned into a bloody stalemate that President Harry Truman’s administration seemed unable to end. Earlier in the year, the president had abruptly dismissed General Douglas MacArthur, a conservative hero, from America’s Far Eastern military command, to the consternation of Hoover and millions of others. At home, Truman’s liberal Democratic administration was under furious assault from conservative critics of its policies toward communist regimes overseas and communist subversion within our borders.

How quickly the world had changed since the close of the Second World War a few years earlier. Then the future had seemed bright with promise. Nazi Germany and imperial Japan had been crushed; fascism as an ideology had been discredited; the birth of the United Nations had appeared to presage an era of global peace. Now, a mere six years later, in Asia and along the Iron Curtain in Europe, a third world war—this time against communist Russia and China—seemed a distinct possibility.

“Mr. Hoover,” said Hill that November evening, “the world is in one hell of a mess, isn’t it?”

“It certainly is,” Hoover replied.

“It has always occurred to me,” Hill continued, “that we are in this mess because of the mistakes of statesmen. Somebody ought to write a book [on the subject] like [E. S. Creasy’s] ‘Fifteen Decisive Battles of the World’; I think it would be a classic.”

“You are absolutely right,” Hoover responded. “That should be done, and I am going to tell you what should be the first chapter.”

“What is that?” asked Hill.

“When Roosevelt put America in to help Russia as Hitler invaded Russia in June, 1941. We should have let those two bastards annihilate themselves.”

Hill was delighted. “That would be a great book. Why don’t you write it, Mr. Hoover?”

“I haven’t the time,” Hoover countered. “Why don’t you write it?”

What Hill did not know—and what Hoover, that evening, did not tell him—was that for several years Hoover had been at work on a book with a similar theme: a comprehensive, critical history of American diplomacy between the late 1930s and 1945, with emphasis on the misguided policies of President Roosevelt. It was a volume in which the Roosevelt administration’s wartime alliance with the Soviet Union would be subject to withering scrutiny.

Twenty years later, in 1971, in a conversation with an interviewer, Hill lamented that no one had ever written the book he had once proposed to Hoover on “The Fifteen Decisive Blunders of Statesmen.” “I have always wished somebody would do it,” he added. “It would be controversial because every one of the decisions the author stated would cause trouble, would cause somebody to come up and defend it, and the book would sell like hotcakes.”

What Hill did not realize was that nearly eight years earlier Hoover had completed his own book of diplomatic blunders. Unlike the scattershot collection of essays that Hill had envisaged, Hoover’s tome was tightly focused. Originally conceived as the section of his memoirs that would cover his life during World War II, the “War Book” (as he called it) had morphed into something far more ambitious: an unabashed, revisionist reexamination of the entire war—and a sweeping indictment of the “lost statesmanship” of Franklin Roosevelt.

Hoover ultimately entitled his manuscript Freedom Betrayed. More informally, and with a touch of humor, he and his staff came to refer to it as the Magnum Opus. The label was apt. For nearly two decades, beginning in 1944, the former president labored over his massive manuscript, producing draft after draft, “edition” after “edition.” He finished the final version (save for some minor editing and additional fact-checking) in September 1963 and prepared in the ensuing months for the book’s publication. Death came first, on October 20, 1964. A little over two months earlier, he had turned ninety years old.

After Hoover’s passing, his heirs decided not to publish his Magnum Opus. Since then, for nearly half a century, it has remained in storage, unavailable for examination.

The new volume Freedom Betrayed presents the book in its final, author-approved edition of 1963–64. It is published—and its contents thereby made available to scholars—for the first time.

Palin Brings Feminism to Republicans and Christians

In case it was unclear, Sarah Palin is a "card-carrying feminist", excluding only abortion. Yet religious and Christian conservatives still praise her and claim the republican party is their party, although there is some growing dissent.

No longer can Rush Limbaugh talk of the radical "Femi-nazis" then without including republican VP candidate Palin in that monologue, can he? But feminism includes more than just abortion rights. And consider the threat of what feminism really is to society's integrity and constitution, even from a strictly secular viewpoint. For a unique critique on feminism see this article which says in part:

...most contemporary feminism...is what Sommers has called "gender feminism," which is essentially based on a form of Marxist theory that substitutes "gender" for Marx's category of "class," or simply adds the two together, usually with "race" thrown in. This sort of "race, class, and gender" theory is typically a dangerous form of political moralism, with the same totalitarian characteristics as other versions of Marxism have proven to display.

There is a slow awakening of just what Palin really represents among conservative Christians. An example of such Christian dissent against Palin is represented in an article here which underlines the hypocrisy of pretending she is "conservative" or even Christian in representation, even while the political left consider her a threat:

For years, conservative Christians have been outspoken in their opposition to the political vision of the radical feminist movement. Now they are supporting a woman for the second highest office in the land who is a self-identified feminist who wants to make feminist objectives a part of her political agenda.

What you hear alot of on talk radio (Rush, Hannity, et al) is that Feminism is being redefined, for Palin, as if only for those women who are pro-abortion rights. That is purposely misleading and intellectually dishonest, what can be called pure propaganda.

PALIN IS A POTENTIAL LIABILITY FOR MCCAIN AMONG CONSERVATIVES

If the dissent grows among Christian conservatives this could potentially then cost McCain losing at least a portion of his conservative base (which never liked him) more than helping him as perhaps he thought! Palin could be McCain's downfall.

If McCain is losing "moderate republicans" and now part of the conservative base (who might not vote, or vote for Chuck Baldwin of the Constitution Party), it will be impossible for him to win. Yet the better national polls show it very close, apparently meaning that conservatives have not yet left him. But could this account for some of the closing gap between McCain and Obama in West Virginia?

Obama, The Secret Six, and Black Liberation Theology--Civil War Continues

Obama has come under closer scrutiny due to his close association with, and membership in the church of, his pastor Rev. Jeremiah Wright who teaches what is being exposed as radical Black Liberation Theology.

A greater in depth look at the history of what is now called Black Liberation Theology has its roots and foundation in the original promoters of radical Abolitionism to end slave-holding, led by the Secret Six (see the book in Bookstore at bottom of blog) and the insane terrorist madman named John Brown, who advocated and did murder innocent whites families (including women and children) and raided the Federal Armory in Harpers Ferry (now West Virginia) in attempt to lead an Insurrection. (John Browns execution for treason was attended by both Robert E. Lee and Stonewall Jackson, a kind of foreshadowing of the bloody conflict to come). This nakedly is what "liberation" in these radical minds is all about, i.e. social upheaval and revolution. It was this radical minority of Marxist terrorists that fueled a needless "Civil War", which cost over 600,000 lives (more than all US wars combined). Dishonest "Abraham" Lincoln (joining the radical "Red Republicans") promoted such Insurrection (as historians interpret it) in his Emancipation Proclamation which encouraged slaves to rise up and murder in the South with impunity, (while he admitted he had "no authority" to set free any slaves). Then "Martin Luther King", who painted himself as "Moses", leading the "children into the promised land" (of communist Utopianism, through trespassing, insurrection and revolution) continued what the radical Abolitionist terrorists left unfinished. (May we not exercise our right to "free inquiry" and "liberty of conscience" about these so-called "great men" today without being branded as "racists" by the politically-correct Inquisition?)

The Abolition movement of the communists and Red Republicans led to the Feminism and further insurrection in the so-called "Civil Rights" movement (that was neither Civil nor Right), and continues to promote a radical socialist and communist agenda that pushes government toward Collectivist policies, including taxation and welfare. Its radical roots reveals its true character.

When will Americans, resisting the power of coercive political-correctness, be willing to study and discuss this and be willing to trace it all to its core in Abolitionism, and its natural successor Feminism? Marxist revolutionary communism entered America in 1861 and seeks further revolution today under Black Liberation theology and the socialist agenda within the government since Reconstruction.

HillaryCare? Freedom Means Personal Responsibility, not Paternal Government

The Constitution (the supreme law sworn to by both democrats and neo-republicans) makes no provisions for a national healthcare system, which also invades state's rights, and forms communist collectivism ("it takes a village") rather than preserving liberty and freedom. This was proposed in the past, and no doubt, would lead to a national ID card (as all insurance requires), while we are already trying to remove REAL ID from the neoconservative side. (We are surrounded by communist socialism on the left and by fascism from the neo-republicans on the right). A dictatorial, paternal government is contrary to freedom and individual liberty.

This is precisely how Roosevelt's communist Social Security system (government theft by force) was implemented as well, just another national insurance program. The details do not matter. HillaryCare represents communist, socialist government akin to Canada and the UK. If people want to live under that paternal system they should move there instead of trying to change America. America needs change, but not this kind.

Here is what Cato Institute has just released on the subject. Anytime the government "requires" you to do something "for your own good" you are not free.

Clinton to Offer Health Plan

"Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Rodham Clinton is unveiling a sweeping health care proposal Monday that would require everyone to carry health insurance and offer federal subsidies to help reduce the cost of coverage," reports the Associated Press. "Fulfilling a pledge to bring health care to all, Clinton's 'American Health Choices Plan' has a price tag of about $110 billion per year. It represents her first major effort to achieve universal health coverage since 1994, when the plan she authored during her husband's first term collapsed."

In a statement issued today on the Clinton health proposal, Michael Tanner, Cato's director of health and welfare studies, writes: " Here we go again. HillaryCare is back, and its apparent that Sen. Clinton has learned little since the American people overwhelmingly rejected her last attempt to overhaul the U.S. health care system. Once again her plan, which would cost $110 billion per year in new taxes, calls for greater government control over American health care. If her plan were to pass this time, it would mean higher taxes, lost jobs, less patient choice, and poorer quality health care."

THE U.S. CANNOT AFFORD ANY MORE BIG GOVERNMENT PROGRAMS, AND ACCORDING TO THE U.S. COMPTROLLER, IS IN A FISCAL CRISIS ALREADY.

The Powers that Be: "Free Ed and Elaine Brown!" - Is the Income Tax Lawful?

The headlines at Drudge Report within the last 24 hours included one that stated "Tax Dodgers Taunt Police from Hilltop Compound". This sensational headline, linked to a CNN article of the same rhetoric, talked about these "dangerous" tax evaders, as if they represent a militant threat to society. Thus the "powers that be" control the media story through contracted press and, like Waco, Ruby Ridge, and other infamous incidents, the demonization of principled persons begins through the national media to make an example of those who dare resist the questionable "powers that be".

The controversy centers on the Income Tax and IRS powers, whether the 16th amendment was lawfully ratified (something questionable of almost every amendment since the Civil War), and also why there is "no law" that tells Americans that a mandatory income tax must be filed or paid, something openly questioned and disputed by former IRS agents (video clip below), with an increasing movement toward investigatory and open resistance unless the government can prove its case, without coercion or intimidation, in a court of law. Aaron Russo's latest documentary, worth reviewing on this subject and more, is entitled "Freedom to Fascism", where such former IRS agents are interviewed on this very subject. QUESTION: IF FORMER IRS AGENTS QUESTION AND DENY THAT THERE IS "NO LAW" TO MAKE AMERICANS LAWFULLY REQUIRED TO FILE INCOME TAX, WHY WILL THE ISSUE NOT BE ADDRESSED, AND WHY SHOULD AMERICANS OBEY SOMETHING MERELY LEVELED BY COERCIVE PROCESS AND DEMAND?

Bear in mind, the same questions could pertain to Social(ist) Security taxation--a communist transfer of wealth by seizure and national welfare scheme--and that the Amish and other parties have disputed, and do not pay! There is a valid legal argument that it too cannot be enforced as "mandatory" and also is a violation of religious liberty of conscience. Why should anyone pay what the law does not actually demand?

Even Kanawha Country Commissioner, Kent Carper stated on local WCHS talk radio over a year ago, and quite accurately, that an Income Tax is a key plank of Communism! Why do most flag-waving West Virginians not know this? Indeed, an excerpt of the Communist Manifesto from a source on the subject reads thus:

"Once again, in their foolishness, the American public has believed the lies of their "leaders" who applaud "the fall of Communism", while they have sold out the country to anti-Christian, anti-American statutes and regulations on the federal, state, and local levels. Posted below is a comparison of the original ten planks of the Communist Manifesto written by Karl Marx in 1848, along with the American adopted counterpart of each of the planks, The American people have truly been "buried in Communism" by their own politicians of both the Republican and Democratic parties. One other thing to remember, Karl Marx was stating in the Communist Manifesto that these planks will test whether a country has become communist or not.

1. Abolition of private property and the application of all rent to public purpose.

The 14th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution (1868), and various zoning, school & property taxes. Also the Bureau of Land Management. (Consider who really owns your property, if you do not pay "property taxes", what the result will be, and just who will put a lien on it, or confiscate it! Thus property taxes have all the elements of land-lease from the government, as if the government owns the property. A key definition of freedom is the ability to possess private property freely, without intrusion or threat of confiscation).

2. A heavy progressive or graduated income tax.

Misapplication of the 16th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, 1913, The Social Security Act of 1936.; Joint House Resolution 192 of 1933; and various State "income" taxes. We call it "paying your fair share".

3. Abolition of all rights of inheritance.

We call it Federal & State estate Tax (1916); or reformed Probate Laws, and limited inheritance via arbitrary inheritance tax statutes.

4. Confiscation of the property of all emigrants and rebels.

We call in government seizures, tax liens, Public "law" 99-570 (1986);

Executive order 11490, sections 1205, 2002 which gives private land to the Department of Urban Development; the imprisonment of "terrorists" and those who speak out or write against the "government" (1997 Crime/Terrorist Bill); or the IRS confiscation of property without due process.

This subject is legitimate enough that Congressman Ron Paul, republican candidate for President, is openly calling for the abolishment of the IRS and Income Tax (see video clip), as something that is contrary to the founding fathers vision in the Constitution, and contrary to freedom in America, when the government operated quite well for 150 years without one! Of course the "powers that be", the private so-called Federal Reserve banks, and big government supporters would object! Ronald Reagan had taken a swipe at them too (see video clip above).

So inquiring minds want to know much more than the contracted news propaganda that brands the Brown's as virtual terrorists in "a compound" (i.e. their home) who "taunt" police (a deliberate lie). It is more than clear by this deceitful rhetoric that the Brown's are being made into "public enemies" to justify the use of armed and military force (something hidden and attempted already) simply because they refuse to pay what is legally questionable! Every now and again, I hear people being interviewed who believe federal income taxes are constitutionally invalid, and, as a result, they refuse to pay them. My first thought is usually "have fun in prison," but recent statements and proposals from some of our politicians have led me to believe that this is a cause worth fighting for.

Enter Ed and Elaine Brown, New Hampshire residents who don't believe in paying income taxes. As a result, the Browns have been sentenced to five-and-a-half years in prison and ordered to pay more than $200,000 after being convicted of tax evasion and are now holed up in their home, complete with solar and wind power. So far, Al Gore has offered no defense of the carbon offset to his mansions and heated pools.

Federal authorities now have their property surrounded, and the standoff could last indefinitely – ending much sooner if the Clintons are elected and put Janet Reno back in the Attorney General's office.

CBS News reports that federal authorities have "cut phone, power and Internet service at the fortified compound" of the couple.

The terms "fortified compound" and "tax evasion" usually seem to go hand-in-hand in stories such as these. "Fortified compound" is a term applied by the government for psychological reasons that is repeated by the media out of psychiatric reflex.

The government has trillions of dollars, tanks and armies of heavily armed individuals at their disposal. Our politicians have access to around the clock protection and bunkers that can withstand a direct nuclear strike. Not only that, but try running into any mainstream media building in New York or Los Angeles without being tackled by armed guards and tasered until your nose gives off a 75-watt glow.

But a married couple who lives in a six-bedroom colonial that might have an extra bolt on the door are the ones who the government and media says have a "fortified compound."

The government and media parrot terms such as "fortress-like home" to imply paranoia, which implies mental illness, which implies there's a good reason for the government to move in and save the "fortified compound" dwellers from themselves and the rest of us.

What's gone wrong?

Taxes weren't always such a treacherous undertaking. For a long time, this country was run on very limited funds. Up until the early 1800s, the government was run purely on internal sales taxes and revenue from a gigantic powdered wig closeout sale. Then, in 1817, the government got rid of internal taxes and functioned completely on tariffs on imported goods.

Can you imagine running the bloated monster of a federal government we have today solely on the 4 percent we'd get from taxes imposed on imports of running shoes and plastic novelty poop?

We were created with the ability to create. All this is evidenced in the brilliance of many of our finest moments, from medicine to art to science – but that all came to an end with the adoption of the 16th Amendment in 1913. The amendment gave Congress legal authority to tax income and resulted in a revenue law that taxed incomes of both individuals and corporations.

At that point, all the creative energy that would have gone into curing disease, designing grand buildings, creating art and music and exploring the farthest reaches of the universe now goes into trying to figure out a way to write off our lawnmower as a dependent or simply to hide out in a "fortified compound" in New Hampshire waiting for the tear gas to come flying through the window.

Here's what is really irksome about Ed and Elaine Brown's situation. They are legal American citizens surrounded by their own government. In the meantime, many members of Congress, along with President Bush, are pushing to legalize 12 million "undocumented workers" (the artist formerly known as "illegal aliens") while forgiving them any back taxes owed, along with any IRS fines.

Ed and Elaine Brown should renounce their citizenship, declare themselves "undocumented workers" and then push for the passage of an immigration "reform" bill. Their tax problem would be solved, and they'd be free. Maybe we should all do this.

Until American citizens are afforded at least the same rights and privileges that our politicians seek for illegal aliens, the government must free Ed and Elaine Brown!

Now if you don't mind, I have to run along and repair the screen door on my "fortified compound."
