Pat Buchanan: Bush is "Woodrow Wilson on Steroids", Unnecessary Wars for Democracy

About McClellan's book that blows the whistle on the Bush administration's propaganda to start war, conservative republican, and former Nixon press secretary, Pat Buchanan says "everything we (who were in opposition) thought about the war was true". He contends that McClellan's testimony in book form proves that the Iraq war was a "war for democracy" in the middle east and that Bush was like "Woodrow Wilson on steroids" (the democrat who threw the U.S. into the European theater of World War I claiming to "make the world safe for democracy). This is of course is the neoconservative agenda that we blog about so much here to call to the public attention and is an indictment of their dangerous war-mongering ideology.

This is powerful analysis, and rebuttal to Bush loyalists and sycophants, largely defending McClellan (and his motivation to clear himself, who had been used as a pawn) from a conservative republican viewpoint. Buchanan also alludes to all this in introducing his new book about World War II, The Unnecessary War, which is sure to stir up some much needed controversy and public re-evaluation.

(This interview from MSNBC below takes awhile to get into the meat, but well worth hearing).

Former Press Secretary Blows Whistle on Bush Administration--"Secretive" and "Compartmentalized" White House

Former White House Press Secretary Scott McClellan's new book is the ultimate in a trend of whistle-blowing that dares to show the American public and inside view of "What Happened" and how decisions were and are made within the Bush administration. As per our previous article on Bugliosi's new book on how to prosecute George W. Bush it is apparent that McClellan would make a credible witness on the stand.

But now the White House and other Bush loyalists are rushing to form a lynch mob (not to defend the Constitution, but a man) as if to criticize and expose what really happened in the secretive administration is some form of treason. On the contrary, how could shedding light, from a former close friend of George Bush, on the administration do any harm...if they have nothing to hide? Why not turn the lights on the inside of a White House that is very proud of everything it has done? He is now being called "self-serving", a "different Scott McClellan", and "disgruntled" employee (the type of which make the best witnesses in corrupt organizations) who is ticked off--desperate attempts to discredit a credible insider! Pardon me, but just who has been self-serving? Who is this George W. Bush that ran in 2000 on "no nation building" and "judicious use of the military" (versus Clinton's war for democracy in Bosnia, that republicans condemned justly), and as a "uniter not a divider"? And just who, pray tell, is "disgruntled" now, but George W. Bush (his former close friend), Cheney, Libby, Rove, and the rest of the "compartmentalized" and "secretive" cabal surrounding Bush in the White House? Unlike them, Scott McClellan has a conscience, and is intellectually concerned that what he calls "permanent campaigning" (i.e. propaganda) rules the White House, and may continue to do so under either party to the detriment of good government and the American people!

In particular, the propaganda to start the Iraq war, which he admits was a "war to democratize the middle east" (the neoconservative plan from the Project for New American Century, which Cheney, Rumsfeld, Wolfowitz, Jeb Bush, and many others were apart of), and talks about a "secretive" and "compartmentalized" (like a White House within the White House) administration, with Cheney as the man "behind the curtain", who was given "broad authority" to do "whatever" needed done! With these words the fears, suspicions, observations, and conclusions of millions of Americans is now confirmed--i.e. that the Bush administration is a secretive rogue government, run by a tight knit cabal (conspiracy) that is dishonest with the American people about terrorism and war.

He defended himself here, and at length, today on MSNBC:

The Prosecution of George W. Bush for Murder--Bush's Helter Skelter to Start War

A soon to be released book by Charles Manson prosecutor and Helter Skelter author Vincent Bugliosi outlining a legal case against George W. Bush.

A Common Dreams article outlines the meat of the case of conspiracy and fraud to "fix the intelligence around the policy" to go to war, implicating also CIA chief George Tenet (who won a Medal of Freedom award) for keeping silent while Bush contradicted the CIA's own National Intelligence Estimate on Iraq:

The Prosecution of George W. Bush for Murder by Vincent Bugliosi

In his first nationally televised address on the Iraqi crisis on October 7, 2002, six days after receiving the National Intelligence Estimate (NIE), a classified CIA report, President Bush told millions of Americans the exact opposite of what the CIA was telling him -a monumental lie to the nation and the world.

On the evening of October 7, 2002, the very latest CIA intelligence was that Hussein was not an imminent threat to the US This same information was delivered to the Bush administration as early as October 1, 2002, in the NIE, including input from the CIA and 15 other US intelligence agencies. In addition, CIA director George Tenet briefed Bush in the Oval Office on the morning of October 7th.

Preparing its declassified version of the NIE for Congress, which became known as the White Paper, the Bush administration edited the classified NIE document in ways that significantly changed its inference and meaning
Click on the video and see how serious he is about a legal case against Bush. His prosecution record is almost flawless too.

Fingerprinting of "Free Americans" Expands

Americans are losing their historical and constitutional "presumption of innocence" which is being replaced by REAL ID and other data-mining requirements by government (or business) that pre-book "free Americans" like is done to criminals upon arrest. In other words there is a growing presumption of suspicion or guilt, rather than innocence, which "requires" trampling the Constitution and all the freedoms Americans used to fight for. It is impossible then that Americans can be truly free if this fascism is permitted to stand unchallenged.

Why is everyone not offended at this, and its implication that unless you forfeit your privacy (your 4th amendment rights) you will not be considered a free citizen?

Fingerprint Registry in Housing Bill!!!

Fingerprints are considered to be among the most personal of information, and fingerprint databases created and proposed in the name of national security have generated much debate. Recently, “Server in the Sky” — a proposed international database of the fingerprints of suspected criminals and terrorists to be shared among the U.S., U.K. and Canada — has ignited a firestorm of controversy. As have cavalier comments by Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff that fingerprints aren’t “personal data.”

Yet earlier this week, a measure creating a federal fingerprint registry totally unrelated to national security passed a U.S. Senate committee almost without notice.
The database and fingerprint mandates were tucked into housing and foreclosure assistance bills that on Tuesday passed the Senate Banking Committee by a vote of 19-2.

McCain: It's Not His Age, It's His Dishonesty

...and incompetence. Would any rational person be this inconsistent? Or maybe it's his memory. Naw...

Republicans should be ashamed that he is their virtual nominee. (No, this is not an endorsement of Hillary or Obama, either).

And before his confirmation as nominee, republicans in particular should review a non-partisan analysis of his dangerous foreign policy (here) by the Cato Institute in a recent podcast.

Iran Catches U.S. (Again) in "State-Sponsored Terrorism"

"We have made clear that any government that chooses to be an ally of terror[ism] has also chosen to be an enemy of civilization."
-- President George W. Bush, Sept. 5, 2006; source: White House

THE U.S. SPONSORS TERRORISM FOR POLITICAL CHANGE, PAST AND PRESENT

As harvested by CLG in a their newsfeed earlier the following stories, in even MSM sources, demonstrates that there is strong and damning evidence that the U.S. is itself involved in what it condemns, "state-sponsored terrorism", something that justifies open war against such states in the eyes of the Bush administration and many Americans.

While still unknown by most Americans (blinded by flag-waving) this is nothing new. U.S. covert actions are well documented, mainly involving the CIA, as in the overthrow of the Iran's Mossadeq and involvement with the junta government of Chili--both of which involved "blow-back" on US citizens in the form a Hostage Crisis in Iran and domestic assassinations, respectively. But it is now more hypocritical and inflammatory given the strong speeches condemning state-sponsored "terrorism" activities, violent acts "designed to influence political change".

Of course much of this will either be disavowed or justified, if admitted, or obfuscated, by the Bush administration and Pentagon. And the CIA never admits to anything, being the rogue agency they are, along with Special Operations and other unofficial or disavowed groups among defense contractors or private entities. But no wonder, provoked by similar declarations against their own military units, Iran declares the CIA as a terrorist entity, state-sponsored of course by the U.S.. Also note that Global Research fingered this activity over a year ago in their article Active CIA Terrorist Cells Operate Inside Iran.

The question in this is who is really acting "Tit for Tat?" Republican and former Presidential adviser Pat Buchanan (see Who's Behind the Proxy Wars?) says Iran is merely reacting to such covert actions against it, if we are to believe the unsupported claims of such at all. The following shows that Tehran has some goods on the U.S. in that regard, a "proxy war" being waged on Iran by arming other militant groups.

IRAN CATCHES U.S. IN STATE-SPONSORED TERRORISM ACTIVITY

Iran busts CIA terror network 18 May 2008 The Intelligence Ministry on Saturday released details of the detection and dismantling of a terrorist network affiliated to the United States. In a coordinated operation on May 7, Iranian intelligence agents arrested the terrorist network's members, who were identified in Fars, Khuzestan, Gilan, West Azerbaijan, and Tehran provinces, the Intelligence Ministry announcement said. The group's plans were devised in the U.S., according to the announcement, which added that they had planned to carry out a number of acts such as bombing scientific, educational, and religious centers, shooting people, and making public places in various cities insecure.

Iran says intercepted terrorist attack on Russian consulate 14 May 2008 Iran has arrested a terrorist group that planned to blow up the Russian consulate building in the town of Rasht near the Caspian Sea, the Iranian intelligence and security minister said on Wednesday. "This terrorist network, with links to the U.S., planned an explosion at the Russian consulate in Rasht, aiming to create a rift between Iran and its neighbors," Qolam Hosein Mohseni-Ejei was quoted by Fars news agency as saying.

Iran says mosque bombers also planned Russia attack 14 May 2008 Iran's intelligence minister said on Wednesday those behind a bomb blast in a mosque that killed 14 people last month also planned to target a Russian consulate in the Islamic state, an Iranian news agency reported. President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad accused the United States, Israel and Britain on Tuesday of being responsible for the blast in the southern city of Shiraz that also wounded 200 people.

Iran holds U.S. responsible for terror attack on diplomats in Baghdad 17 May 2008 Iran has denounced a "terror attack" on its embassy staff in Baghdad and held the United States responsible for violating diplomatic immunity in Iraq, the official IRNA news agency reported on Saturday. Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki made the remarks, while strongly condemning the terror attack, said IRNA.

Iran blames US after diplomats are shot in Baghdad 18 May 2008 Iran angrily blamed the US on Friday after at least three of its diplomats were wounded in a Baghdad shooting, saying the US was encouraging attacks on Iranians in Iraq. The shooting, which may have been by Iraqi soldiers during an argument at a checkpoint, comes amid unprecedented strains between Iran and the Iraqi government, which has long been close to Tehran.

OBFUSCATION: SPINNING UNCOVERED COVERT ACTIONS INTO OPEN CAMPAIGNS

These actions documented above qualify, since they involve deliberate targetting especially of non-combatants and designed to spark fear and chaos, as "terrorism", state-sponsored by the U.S. (likely with Israel and UK involvement). When covert actions have their covers blown, it is necessary to invent a new cover story to justify the actions. This has now stepped into high gear, per this article and research, regarding one of the Pentagon's own brass unleashed for media purposes, and caught in action by CLG. Follow the story and links for yourself, and see just who may be doing "tit for tat", and who is the aggressor (based upon credible evidence), and who is the respondent.

Pentagon Propagandist General Calls for US to Sponsor Terrorism Against Iran By Bill W. 16 May 2008 Last month on Fox News, Ret. Gen. Thomas McInerney, one of the Pentagon's propaganda team of military analysts exposed by David Barstow in the NYT, openly called for the US to begin committing "tit-for-tat" terrorist attacks by proxy inside Iran: "Here's what I would suggest to you. Number one, we take the National Council for Resistance to Iran off the terrorist list that the Clinton Administration put them on as well as the Mujahedin-e Khalq at the Camp Ashraf in Iraq. Then I would start a tit-for-tat strategy which I wrote up in the Wall Street Journal a year ago: For every EFP that goes off and kills Americans, two go off in Iran. No questions asked. People don't have to know how it was done. It's a covert action. They become the most unlucky country in the world..." Media Matters' exhaustive research into the NYT story shows that McInerney appeared on Fox News 144 times since Jan 2002, and according to this bio from last year's "Intelligence Summit," McInerney is on the Board of Directors for several companies with defense-related contracts that would seem to benefit from his pro-war propaganda.

The Reason John McCain Stopped at St. Albans Gun & Archery

or, Why is the West Virginia GOP giving McCain a paint job?

It is revealing how naive and stupid many republican voters are when they fall over themselves as John McCain attended St. Albans Gun & Archery for a cleverly scheduled stop on his way to Kentucky. Have West Virginia republicans, and the leadership, considered his record on gun rights and the 2nd amendment? Actually, the leadership probably has which is probably why he made the stop he did.

McCain is a neoconservative, not a conservative, and his gun rights record proves it. A posting at a Huckabee site includes what appears in this clip below. Yet West Virginia republicans appear to be eager to nominate a man who is as dangerous to gun rights as was Rudy Giuliani, who as Mayor of New York City was involved a million dollar lawsuit against a West Virginia pawn shop that sold a gun that was allegedly used in a crime there --who also spoke to the NRA, until his wife interrupted with a phone call. A candidates history and track record speaks louder than his words. Is the West Virginia GOP simply giving him a cosmetic makeover? How can this be honest to the republican voters?

Obviously with this left-leaning record McCain wanted to make a quick show to the disappointed conservatives in West Virginia, most of which supported other candidates and were as upset about McCain's capture of delegates as Rush Limbaugh. Making a photo-op stop, and really to huddle with GOP leadership, at a Gun Shop was the perfect and deceitful image that was intended to be conveyed. Some of us are not fooled. Maybe if he would have walked out of this (excellent) store with a hand gun (with their excellent selection and pricing of Glocks) instead of fishing equipment it would have been more convincing (but he would have offended the left too much then).

Republicans need to consider, as even Rush Limbaugh waxed on the radio today, that the neoconservatives are not conservative at all (just as Ron Paul stated at the West Virginia GOP convention). John McCain is not a card-carrying member, but as a member of the CFR (like Cheney, Giuliani, Romney, et al, in the company of David Rockefeller) and with his legislative record (e.g McCain-Feingold, McCain-Kennedy), it is not difficult to see just where McCain stands on the Constitution and 2nd amendment rights. Is this really who republicans want to nominate, and elect? It was even Limbaugh's suggestion that the now neoconservative hijacked republican party needs to be taken back and not voting for McCain is the only way to do it. Will you merely vote on a party label, and lose your liberties? The Libertarian Party just announced Bob Barr (former republican Congressman, Georgia) and the Constitution Party has also announced theirs, so a protest vote for the democratic candidate is not even required. (You had a better choice with Ron Paul--who holding to principles refuses to endorse McCain--by far).

At any rate, it is difficult to really see the difference between McCain and the Democrats on gun rights, which this campaign stop and his upcoming session at the NRA is designed to mask, just like Giuliani attempted. It is time for republicans to see who the RINOs are and stop pandering to anyone who has been in the military and has an 'R' by their name.

(Just for the record Gun Owners of America is much more conservative than the compromising NRA on gun rights, which Shelly Moore Capito also waves around as if this means she is conservative too).

Gun Owners of America pulls no punches:

Arizona Senator John McCain is running for President (again). He has been courting various conservative leaders in his quest to secure the Republican nomination. McCain wants voters to believe that he is a conservative… but his record would certainly suggest otherwise.

Take, for instance, his record on gun rights and political speech affecting Second Amendment activists. Abysmal, wretched, and pathetic are words that come to mind.

Then … here is John Lott, writing for NRO, discussing McCain’s attempt to sell Conservatives on his gun rights credentials:
McCain has supported central portions of the gun-control agenda.
While gun-control groups have tried for years to register the names of gun owners, McCain’s legislation helps accomplish this by effectively requiring the registration of all people who attend a gun show.

Gorbachev: US Restarting Cold War, Threatening World

Amazing quotes (too true) below by Gorbachev about U.S. war-mongering from this news item earlier. For awhile Putin and Bush were close, until the Secretary of Defense (Gates) started talking of preparing against Russia and China. Now things have changed. So much for Reagan shaking hands with the former Soviet leader to close the Cold War.

Note his "conspiracy" charges against the U.S. and also Great Britain. I wonder how Americans would react if Russia setup "missile defense shield" around South America, as the U.S. is doing in Eastern Europe? Kind of provocatory, no?

This quote in particular is worth noting, since it demonstrates that the hijacked U.S. government is acting as a global empire and policing the world, an authority usurped unilaterally:

"The United States cannot tolerate anyone acting independently."

Ironic, how in 1776 America had a "declaration of independence" upon claiming that "all men are created equal", while the usurping powers now act as if no one else may do the same, and as if "some (nations) are more equal than others". This is the hypocrisy of the present U.S. government, that actually started with radical republicanism that usurped rule and began its empire with the Civil War, now extending a Union by force from just the American states, to the entire world, in the name of Democracy.

Gorbachev should have read the neocon blueprint for a PAX AMERICANA, by the Project for New American Century, which includes regime change for China, and another look at Russia. The neoconservatives have published their conspiracy for "global hegemony" for all to read, if everyone would just pay closer attention. Americans need to read it so they understand just how much war is in the planning.

Gorbachev: US could start new Cold War

Mikhail Gorbachev has accused the United States of mounting an imperialist conspiracy against Russia that could push the world into a new Cold War.

With Dmitry Medvedev due to be inaugurated today as Russian president, the Soviet Union's last leader said that the White House's claims of peaceful intentions towards its former superpower rival could no longer be trusted.

Delivering one of his most scathing attacks on the US, Mr Gorbachev told The Daily Telegraph that a US military build-up was under way to contain a resurgent Russia.

"The United States cannot tolerate anyone acting independently.

"Every US president has to have a war."

"I sometimes have a feeling that the United States is going to wage war against the entire world."

He railed against a "military-industrial complex" that he insisted was the "real government" of the US

U.S. House Blocks War Funding--Congress Stands Up

U.S. House Blocks $163 Billion for Conflict in Iraq (Update3)

May 15 (Bloomberg) -- Anti-war Democrats and Republicans who
objected to Democratic tactics in the U.S. House defeated a
measure to provide $163 billion to pay for the wars in Iraq and
Afghanistan until next summer.

Lawmakers rejected the measure by a 149 to 141 vote today
with more than 130 members voting ``present.'' Many Democrats
have refused to support spending on a war that they oppose, and
Republicans opposed the legislation because the process limited
their usual opportunity to offer alternate legislation.

``This is a $200 billion spending bill in which Republicans
were shut out of the process,'' said Republican Tom Davis of
Virginia, who voted present.

Some anti-war Democrats cheered, shouting, ``The war is
over.''

The government has enough money to pay for the war through
July under current law

Democrats knew before the vote that many in their party,
including Pelosi, would vote against the war funding.

Good! Unjust and anti-constitutional undeclared wars have no obligation to be funded. Bring the troops home with the budget in place.

Congress is a separate and equal branch of government with the Executive, not its foot stool.

Meanwhile, however, the Executive Branch is sending more troops, and battle wagons, to the Middle East:

Reagan, strike group preparing to deploy 14 May 2008 More than 7,000 sailors will leave home next week when the Ronald Reagan Carrier Strike Group deploys from San Diego for a scheduled deployment to the Western Pacific and Persian Gulf regions. The seven-ship naval force, led by Rear Adm. James Wisecup, commander of Carrier Strike Group 7 in San Diego, will leave next Monday, Navy officials announced.

$4 per Gallon Gas Pinching Low Income Families Most--War Taxes All

$4.00 per Gallon!!

This is forcing major shifts in spending and life changes as the cost of everything goes up respective to fuel costs, not just at the pump. This is pinching Americans, especially at lower income levels, while the well off remain careless and distracted. In turn this will increase government welfare spending, and force some out of their cars completely.

All this to due dollar devaluation, due to heavy debt spending by government, printing money, to finance unjust and needless war-mongering abroad against countries that pose no threat to the U.S.. The poor suffer the most, as usual, who have the least to do with war policy, merely attempting to survive.

Stop the neocon war-mongering war policy and oil prices and consumer goods prices will fall, and poorer families will be able to sustain themselves better. Bad foreign policy effects all Americans lives and oppresses the poor the most.

Calculate for yourself the cost of war for you in gas prices:

_______ gallons per week X $2.50 (increase in gas price since 2001 when it was 1.50/gallon)
= _______ X 4.33 (wks per month) = $_________ additional monthly spending on gas since the neocon wars were started. The answer is for GAS ALONE, does not include GROCERY PRICES WHICH ARE EXTRA.

Example: If a person fills up twice per week, a 14 gallon tank, the increase is $303.10 per month versus 2001!!

Gasoline - The Difference A Dollar [Ed. or Two] Makes
For millions of upper middle class, and upper class U.S. consumers tacking on an extra dollar per gallon to the price of gasoline is no big deal, however, to the millions of working Americans who live from paycheck to paycheck the recent increase spells for financial hardship.
The Cost Of Everything Is On The Rise
A one dollar increase in the price of gallon of gasoline will effectively raise the price of everything else. Food prices are already on the rise. Inflation driven by higher energy cost will increase the cost of every good, and every service. Even when products aren't made with oil the price of oil will in some way effect the cost of that product. The cost of services are also effected directly, and indirectly by the cost of oil.
While upper middle class, and upper class Americans will chuckle at a one dollar increase in the price of a gallon of gasoline tens of millions of American families will be forced to find ways to survive.

Weak Dollar and Traders Behind Gas Prices, Not Supply and Demand

This article refutes a lot of talk about OPEC and such causing high oil and gas prices. It also explains higher prices on consumer goods, not just driven by fuel prices alone. The dollar is becoming as valued as the paper its printed on, which this articles does not go into is because of national indebtedness for heavy war spending, as Ron Paul pointed out during his campaigning.

Traders and speculators in the investment community are increasingly buying oil futures for their portfolios and war fears (i.e. war on terrorism, middle east war-mongering) increase price on the trade floor, period.

Stop the interventionist, rogue war policy and oil and gas prices will fall, and the dollar will strengthen as money supply is reduced.
clipped from www.iht.com

A peek behind the price at the U.S. gas pump

From Capitol Hill to Wall Street to the campaign trail, the recent surge in oil prices is quickly threatening to supplant the mortgage crisis as the country's leading economic issue. Last week, prices for crude set another record, finishing at $125.96 a barrel on Friday, while gasoline prices closed in on $4 a gallon.

While no one disputes that China and other emerging economies are craving more crude, the stunning rise of oil from $62 a year ago is hard to explain as only a matter of supply and demand. After all, analysts have noted adequate inventories.

Over the same period, the dollar has declined nearly 15 percent against the euro, and the jump in oil prices "is very much driven by the dollar,"

buying oil has become a way for hedge funds, pension funds and other institutional investors to offset their exposure to dollar-based assets like United States stocks and bonds

Since every candidate must swear to defend and protect the Constitution of West Virginia and of the United States, think about who WILL defend the Bill of Rights the most, that ensures our freedoms, that we are losing!

We can think of a few who would be better than their rivals:

--Ron Paul (R) for President, still in race, will increase delegates for voice in national convention; strict Constitutionalist, most conservative member of Congress on taxes and gun rights, limited government, personal liberty. [McCain is a RINO neoconservative (not conservative), deceives on war hero status, does not uphold the Constitution, blindly loyal to Israel, McCain-Feingold on illegal immigration, Keating Five member, megalomaniac on war policy, CFR member (world government), wants National ID, etc.]

--Edward Burgess for Delegate (R) St. Albans--strict Constitutionalist, activist

--Bob Bastress for Supreme Court (D)--only expert on the West Virginia Constitution. This is important since many issues of the state could involve controversies on the State and Federal Constitutions; i.e. mandatory drug testing, REAL ID, surveillance cameras, PATRIOT ACT powers, mandatory vaccination laws, home schooling, free speech issues, a rogue Legislature and Governor that trample the Constitution(s) through laws and executive power (e.g. tables games, privacy rights, private property rights, law enforcement powers, etc.)

--Dan Greear for Attorney General (R)--Law education, seems intellectually honest rather than partisan as top prosecutor.

--Corey Polumbo for Senate (D)--lawyer, intellectually honest, open, admitted table games were likely not Constitutional (but voted at the end for it anyway, glaring inconsistency; better be his last)

--ABSOLUTELY NO on Shelly Moore Capito (R) for US House of Reps--did not defend and uphold the Constitution on REAL ID, USA PATRIOT ACT, Military Commissions Act, domestic surveillance, unjustifiable Iraq and Afghan wars (for neocon regime change, not threats to US), gross overspending of tax dollars, Abramoff (convicted) recipient, Scooter Libby (convicted) supporter, partisan instead of Constitutional, lack of oversight in Page incident, little evidence of weighing constituents views contrary to party loyalty, liberal on social issues (abortion, government health care), not strict enough on 2nd amendment rights.

--ABSOLUTELY NO ON ANY INCUMBENT WHO VOTED FOR LEGISLATIVE PAY RAISE.

--VOTE AGAINST MANCHIN FOR GOVERNOR, who does not uphold the Constitution on REAL ID (4th and 10th amendments), free speech (signed unconstitutional ethics legislation in first month; threatened, intimidated Blankenship who ran ads against him, settled out of court), violated State Constitution on table games, 4th amendment privacy rights (favors mandatory drug testing; traffic surveillance cameras across state began in late 2007), heavy taxation (WV ranked 4th in total taxes as fraction of population income, with high food stamp population, highest State gas tax, corrupt anti-constitutional casino game tax scheme; credits himself on food tax, but resisted it, forced it to be gradual only; state is rich in revenue while people are comparatively poor), is partisan instead of law and issue oriented, political ambitions over good of West Virginians, arrogant (self made inaugural parade) and extravagant (Christmas parties at state expense, Gov. Mansion remodel, new gold dome) relying on political "noble family" status while feigning "buddy", flag waver instead of Constitutional defender, uses State money for subtle personal travel (bowl games, plane trips, extensive foreign travel), cronyism for political appointees (frankly, alot of Italians in key positions of power--see Knights of Columbus; wife and brother in state positions), Knights of Columbus member (loyalty to ideology of secret society that pushes militant Roman Catholic world view toward empire; not loyal to Constitution; persecutory toward Protestant Christians and others--see oath), and WVU-Heather Bresch Affair demonstrates favoritism, political protectionism and real family values of "privileged" status.

[These opinions are only those of the West Virginia Holler editor. Not paid for by any candidate or candidate's committees.]

Arizona State Senator (R): 9/11 Involved Controlled Demolition--Calls for Real Independent Investigation

A republican Senator in Arizona is convinced that controlled demolition was used on 9/11 in the supposed "collapse" of the WTC towers. More and more reasonable persons, scientists, government officials, airline pilots, and architects and engineers are claiming the same thing, appealing to the evidence while the media consistently supports the official story which appeals to nothing but blind faith in what government officials have stated, and an admittedly corrupted 911 Commission Report.

It can no longer be resisted as a mere "conspiracy theory". It is more of a "theory", unsustainable by evidence, that the WTC towers could have collapsed--symmetrically, vertically, and in total pulverization, at almost free fall speed--without controlled demolition, which indeed justifies claims of cover-up and conspiracy.

Backing my claims about 9/11 questions

    By Karen Johnson
    Commentary

A recent letter to the editor asked for evidence of my claims regarding the tragedy of 9/11. Below I present some points that are presently known. I won't be able to convince anyone who doesn't want to be convinced, but for those who are willing to deal with factual evidence, consider the following:

37 different people reported explosions in the basement of the World Trade Center Towers before the first plane hit, and seismic equipment recorded both the explosions and the impacts. In addition, people were injured by the explosions in the basement, providing well-documented evidence. Yet this evidence is ignored.

The media and government have promoted the "pancake theory" as the cause of the collapse of the Twin Towers — that is, fire weakened the steel support beams, causing the upper floors to collapse. Then the weight of the collapsing floors above caused the floors below to collapse. This theory is not consistent with scientific principles or the facts. Frank Legge, who has a doctorate in chemistry, and Tony Szamboti, a mechanical engineer, reported in December in the Journal of 9/11 Studies: "It appears therefore that the official concept of a free-fall collapse of the upper portion through the initiation story, due to heat effects from fire, is a fantasy. If the temperature did become high enough for collapse to occur" — and everyone agrees that it did not — "it could not have happened in the observed manner. In particular it could not have been sudden and thus could not have produced the velocity, and hence the momentum and kinetic energy, upon which the official story depends for the second stage of collapse."

The theory that the buildings collapsed due to controlled-demolition explosives, however, is consistent with scientific principles and the facts. The "demolition" theory, in fact, is the only one which scientists have been able to corroborate. That is, "… all observations are in accord with the use of explosives in a time sequence." (Legge and Szamboti, December, Journal of 9/11 Studies.)

    • Peer-reviewed reports indicate that the masses of dust particles created by the disaster contained tiny pieces of metal that had been exposed to both extreme temperatures (higher than could have been produced by a burning office or burning airplane fuel) and extreme pressure (such as an explosion) that would fragment material into minute particles. Official reports ignore this.

In December, physicist Steven Jones announced the discovery of thermite chips in World Trade Center dust samples. The chemical composition of these chips are an exact match to known thermite samples used in controlled demolitions--— further corroboration that explosive devices were involved.

Steel support beams recovered from the site of the World Trade Center exhibit cut edges that are characteristic of thermite used to slice steel support beams in building demolitions but are not characteristic of steel beams that have been burned in a fire.

    When
the 9/11 Commission Report was finally released, it was woefully inadequate. It never even addressed the collapse of Building 7, for example. Former FBI Director Louis Freeh has stated that there are inaccuracies in the report and unanswered questions. Even the two chairmen of the 9/11 Commission — Thomas Kean and Lee Hamilton — have accused the CIA of "obstructing" the commission, and one commissioner, U.S. Sen. Max Cleland, resigned, stating that the commission was "compromised."

Private individuals with specialized knowledge — scientists, engineers, architects, demolitions experts, and the firefighters and police officers who were on the scene on Sept. 11, 2001, have tested theories, constructed models, provided testimony, and dug for the truth about what really happened on 9/11. They have been ignored by media and the government.

The mainstream media parrot the less-than-credible conclusions of the 9/11 Commission without giving any thought to the many omissions and inconsistencies. In a truly free country, the press would ask hard questions and do real investigating, but this is not happening. Only the alternative media, such as Internet news sites, have done any solid investigating.

The events of 9/11 led immediately to the creation of the Department of Homeland Security and passage of the Patriot Act (what double-speak), both of which deprive us of Constitutional rights and have brought us to the brink of becoming a police state. Homeland Security is currently trying to force a national ID card down our throats, although some governors have politely (or not so politely) told Secretary Michael Chertoff where he can go.

If we're going to sacrifice our freedom, there ought to be a very good reason, and we have a right to know what that is. It isn't enough for government to say, "Trust me." It's way past time for Congress to authorize an independent investigation of 9/11 that will consider the mass of new evidence that has been gathered in the past seven years. The longer they stall, the more suspicions grow.

Iraq Officials Counter US Claims of Iran Arming Militants

First the neocon propaganda about Iran possessing a nuclear weapons program was refuted by the latest NIE report (which actually Cheney got revised to say that they used to, after a year's work of gerrymandering it).

Now the latest propaganda (as Pat Buchanan exposed, in our article below), parroted by Patreus in Congress recently, is that Iran is arming extremists in Iraq (which John McCain mistakenly said was Al Qaeda, until Lieberman corrected the official propaganda for him), is being challenged by the newly installed and "free" (puppet) Iraqi government, using three words: "No conclusive evidence".

To paraphrase, the Iraqi official statements in this story are rather blunt, if you read it all, and could be summarized like this:
"Do not push us into conflict with Iran just because "some parties" (i.e. the US neocons and Israel) want a war. We are neighbors and sovereign countries. It is between us. Back off the propaganda--and butt out!"

Iraqi official says Iran arms evidence not conclusive

BAGHDAD - A top Iraqi official said Sunday there was no conclusive evidence that Shiite extremists have been directly supplied with some Iranian arms as alleged by the United States.

Al-Dabbagh was commenting on talks this week in Tehran between an Iraqi delegation and Iranian authorities aimed at halting suspected Iranian aid to some Shiite militias.

Asked about reports that some rockets made in 2007 or 2008 and seized in raids against militias were directly supplied by Iran, al-Dabbagh replied: "There is no conclusive evidence."

The U.S. accuses Iran of financing and training Shiite militants in Iraq and of funneling lethal weapons into the country. Iranian officials have denied the allegations.

"We are fed up with past tensions that we have paid a costly price for because some parties have pushed Iraq (in the past) to take an aggressive attitude to Iran."
